Lore: Chip was always born the color they were. Many scientist wondered how Chip had obtained such an appearance and conducted countless test on them. Chip has earned their name by resembling chocolate mint chip cream. Chip is somewhat famous in the science community being known as one of the first rats to show natural mutation without the use of human intervention.
They were found living inside a forest near water of similar color, so it is believed that they had evolutionized to match their natural surroundings to prevent predatory attacks. They also have webbed feet and are a phenomenal swimmer.
