Kalon Name: Basil
Gender: M
Prompt Response:When he discovered he can summon wings from the markings on his sides, he thought he was alone.
He had to keep it a secret because in the city he lives in, those who are blessed with any form of magic are shunned and driven away.
But when he met
a certain librarian, he realized he's not alone.
World draft:~1800s.
In the world Basil would live in, magic is rare but powerful, and it hugely depends on what markings the kalon has.
E.g. those with a wing marking who happen to possess magic can use wind magic and fly! Or
those with heart markings can use healing magic, etc.
There are also different sorcerers' guilds, but they hide away from the public, for obvious reasons.
Personality draft:Basil would be this outspoken guy who, despite having everything he could ever ask for, is just not happy.
He wants to go on adventures! He wants to go and fight evil, save kalons, discover new lands!
But when he finds out he has magic? He gets scared. He's frightened. He doesn't know what to do or who to go to. He gets seen with his wings out, chased into an alley by a gang, but gets rescued by
Henry. During their escape, he flies for the first time in his life, and... is not quite down with the fact that he has a special gift.
Small story draft:After discovering his magic, Basil's too scared to go home. He thinks his parents are going to get mad and they'll abandon him.
So what does this young kit do? He starts wandering around on the streets, alone, til night falls, of course.
He turns into an alleyway and stops to summon his wings. As he's examining them, a gang of other kalons see him and start chasing him. They end up in an alley with no way out. But when all seems lost, the owner of the local library flies in and rescues him.
Henry takes him to his library and is delighted to see another fellow sorcerer! To his surprise though, Basil is not happy to be one.
Henry decides to educate him a bit: he shows him how helpful magic can actually be despite what everyone says, and decides to make Basil his apprentice.
But the kit is still sceptical about the usefulness of magic, he reluctantly agrees to study with the librarian's help.
