HoC Breeding

Postby canis, » Fri May 03, 2019 3:01 pm

Special boy to celebrate my survival of a particularly tough semester.

Lethal White Syndrome (a.k.a. Overo Lethal White Syndrome and Lethal White Overo) is a mutation that occurs when a foal is born with two copies of the overo allele. The mutation causes a defective colon, often resulting in colic and eventual death. Due to the painful end that LWS brings, many foals with the syndrome are euthanized. This colt, however, appears to have somehow survived the mutation. He is being closely monitored by the veterinarian, but as of right now he is completely healthy.

    Username: canis,
    Name: Caspian
    Gender: Stallion
Color: Classic champagne roan overo blanket pintaloosa (lethal white syndrome)
    Genotype: EE/aa/Chch/RnRn/OO/Lplp/
    Parents: Malakai x Imara

Breeding Notes: He cannot be bred to a mare with overo. He will always produce overo foals.
