Late one night there was an outlaw
Rode through the gate half past two
In the dead of the night there was hardly a light
To be found in the town of Dry Dune

The outlaw entered the cantina
And he had just barely sat down
'Fore the sheriff strode in with a paper in hand,
To say "Mister, you're coming with me"

For the outlaw, you see, had a record
He was wanted for bank robbery
His hand flew to the pistol that hung at his side
And he fired not one shot, but three

The hanging bulbs burst with a shattering
Of glass raining down from above
The outlaw had fired his shots to the lights
And then busted his way through the door

The confusion he left the saloon with
Had given him time to escape
He mounted his horse and in no time at all
He was headed straight out of the state

What the warrant had left out was crucial,
The poster did justice for none
As the reason he made off with all of that cash
Was to help those the law had undone

For the sheriff a couple towns over
Had been taking much more than his share
With a tax on the men of the hometown he loved
So he seized what the sheriff could spare

And with that the man turned an outlaw
Should live his life out on the run
But with his "foul" deed he had saved his old town
From a fate of desolation

I’ve never really had much luck with love...
See, I’m not unfaithful or anything. And I don’t hold my feelings back either. That’s not it at all. It’s just... you know, I’m not really sure I know what love for another actually is. I mean, sure, I love some of my belongings, my friends, how they’re always there for me, at all times. I’m not talking about that type of love. I mean the real stuff, the “I’ve met my soulmate and I am finally whole” sort of thing... I guess I’m a bit of a romantic, you know?
I’ve had crushes before, of course. I think I’m always too quick to jump at the idea that it might be real love. It never is... it hasn’t been yet, at least. I still have hope.
I’m starting to understand that these feelings I have, they aren’t real love, no matter how much I may wish that the person was my soulmate. And the one that I truly did love? Well... she may have been my ideal, but I certainly wasn’t hers. And I get that, as much as I didn’t wish to believe it. But I do think I was starting to love her.. which is why I had to let her go, when I realized that I wasn’t the love of her life. I cared too much to try to force something that just wasn’t meant to be.
My, that got a little depressing, huh? Well, it’s behind me now, so I’ll just move on.
I mentioned earlier that I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic, you know? That means, despite my somewhat rough and tumble appearance and personality, I live for the little things. I can’t wait to find my love, so I can pepper them with little kisses, and give them warm hugs to show how much they really mean to me. I will remind them everyday that I am truly blessed to have them in my life, and leave little notes or gifts hidden for them. Because, for everything good in this world, I know there won’t be anything better than seeing their eyes light up as they smile. I look forward to being able to hear their laugh. Goodness, even just thinking about it has my heart thumping. I couldn’t help but write poetry for them too...

Oh, love, how long I have missed you!
I’ve spent many a night just dreaming to kiss you...
The thought of your love just makes my heart dance,
I think I’m bewitched, caught up in a trance
Brought forth by you, and the stars in your eyes.
You may not see them, but I wouldn’t tell you lies-
You, dearest, are beautiful, and everything I could ever want.
For so long, in both thoughts and dreams you would haunt,
But now you are here, I can hardly believe
That you’re truly here, are my eyes deceived?
I’ve waited so long for this pure love, but it’s well worth the wait.
We are together now... what an angel is fate.

I mean... it’s a bit cheesy, sure, but I really can’t help it. The thought of a love, reciprocated and pure, one that lasts beyond anything and everything... my heart just melts.
But today, I have no one. See, I’m out of luck with love, but don’t you dare believe that I’ll ever give up. I will never.
Sure, today I may not have the love I long for, but tomorrow is a better day.
I’ll find my love, in one of these eventual tomorrows.
