// Task 1:

Tentatively, the mare poked her head out of the trailer, eyeing everyone around her suspiciously. Amelia, her handler, slowly swung open the doors, clearing a path for her in case Midnight Magic decided to make a run for it. As suspected, she did, kicking her heels and jumping out of the trailer like a bat out of hell.
// Task 2:
The two of them sat in the middle of a dusty arena, eyeing one another. Midnight Magic didn't care much for the company of humans, but she was willing to put up with it. Amy was sitting comfortably in the dirt, ready to roll under the gate if Magic decided she wanted to attack. However, for now, she was just showing Magic that she wasn't a threat to her.
// Task 3:
Malinda, one of the kindest mares in the herd, was the first to introduce Magic to everyone. The two stared at each other for a while, before Malinda offered Magic some food. Food seemed to be something that Magic could get behind, and Magic and Malinda would be friends for a good while following that point. Malinda introduced Magic to the rest of the herd; most of the mares were very anxious and nosey and wanted to meet her, and some didn't get along with her, however, at ease with a new herd, Magic was able to calm down.
// Task 4;
It was hard to even get Magic to accept a halter, let alone brush her. Amy first got to pet Magic; that was a struggle, and she nearly got bit a few times. Eventually, Magic accepted that Amy wasn't a threat, and Amy got to brush that dirty, dirty coat of Magic's, revealing the soft, shining coat beneath. She got a treat for her patience, and for her trust.
// Task 5
While brushing did a little, washing would do a lot, and on a nice, warm summer day, Amy took Magic out back with a hose to begin washing her. Magic, surprisingly, enjoyed the water, and behaved nicely. By now, she was getting used to Amy's touch, so when the sponge began adding soap to her coat, Magic didn't put up much of a fuss. At the end of it, the true beauty of her coat really started to shine.
// Task 6
It was a long night of work, and Amy was exhausted from taking care of so many of those Grels by herself. Cody was nowhere to be seen, so it was just her for now. Amy leaned against a fence, taking a small breather.
While she breathed in the cool night air, a Grelificent came up to her and stuck her head on her shoulder. At first she assumed it was Tempest; one of her more snuggly mares. Amy was surprised to see that it was Magic, giving her somewhat of an affectionate nuzzle. Or perhaps she just wanted a treat. Who knows.
// Task 7
After the two bonded, the next step in Magic's life journey was training. Amy knew she wanted something to help Magic let out her excitement, so she decided to train her in the Hunting discipline. However, first was halter and leading. Magic was independent, and definitely didn't want to be told what to do. Haltering her took her many, many, many attempts, before finally the Mare realized that it wasn't going to hurt her. Leading took even longer...but it eventually happened.
// Task 8
Once Magic got used to being led, the next thing was longework. Amelia wanted to help Magic get out some of her energy, and so, let her out on a lunge, allowing her to gallop and run and get out some much needed energy. Surprisingly, Magic didn't struggle with this task so much.
// Task 9
Magic didn't like saddles; every time one was put on her, she would buck it off. However, she accepted saddlepads just fine, and Amy decided that was as good as it would get for now. The bridle was also hard, as Magic didn't like bits. However, Amy worked around this with bitless bridles. Risking it, Amy slid on Magic's back for the first time. Magic didn't really know how to handle it at the time, so she kinda just stood there, ears flattened, while Amy patted her back and gave her reassuring words. For a while, that was all Amy did. Eventually, she was able to ride Magic around the paddock, which was a small step towards a bright future for Magic.
