Main Name: Agneyastra (Astra for those who know her well- so very few)
Name meaning/reason for choice: This name is the name of the flaming weapon of the fire god, Agni. This fits her perfectly... well, almost. She is a weapon with markings and color highly resembling flames, and devotes herself to her "god," the only difference is that who she follows is not Agni. In fact, who she follows is not a who at all, but a what. Agneyastra devotes herself to being a weapon of balance, and spends her days protecting those who cannot protect themselves, and battling those who would do harm to the innocent- she has inside her a fire that burns stronger than the heat of the star she so resembles.
Her nickname, Astra, also has meaning. Simply put, it means star. Not only does she resemble a star, but this is also remniscent of her power. A star is responsible for life itself- nothing could exist without the warmth and life it brings. Yet, that same star has the ability to snuff out all the life it protects, and ruthlessly can destroy worlds. Astra is like a star- the only difference is that she has a choice. She gets to decide who gets to thrive in her warmth, and who will burn in her fury.
Gender: Female, although most do not know it.
Other names: Due to her fiercly protective, yet somehow allusive nature, Astra has earned many names from the fables whispered about her. Some call her Anwara- the Eternal Flame, the Bright One. Some call her Baara- the Purging Flame. Still others call her Ailith- the Warrior. But most call her Chiamaka- Guardian Spirit, for while she will protect you until her dying breath, just as soon as you are safe, she just seems to... vanish.
Dreams for the future: Astra's dreams for the future are
not what you might expect. They are not unrealistic, such as ruling the world- although her "worshippers" are more plentiful than even she imagines. Yet she is also not overly pragmatic- she doesn't simply wish to have enough food for the rest of her life. In fact, for the purpose of achieving her dreams, she does not need nor want followers, and food? Well, it's only applicable as a necessity of life. Astra, for all of her power, does not want much. Her dream is to continue doing what she does. She wants to save as many innocents as she can, and destroy as many evils as she can. Evils, though, are not just all things Dark. Astra is not so naive to believe that anything different is wrong, and that all pain caused deserves to be punished. She never kills anything that does not delight in the killing it does purely for the sake of the pain it causes. In fact, most darkness she does not destroy- she simply removes. In a land of her own, separated from that which most creatures live in, lies all the creatures of the Dark, but not Evil. All lose to her fairly; all understand the mercy she shows them in giving them a place of their own. They cannot leave without Astra's permission and assistance, for they are as good as in a different dimension. But they do not mind, for Astra weaves her way among them, providing all with whatever they might need.
To continue this successfully is her biggest dream. She hopes to save innocents, and destroy evils- no matter if they're Light, Dark, or Inbetween.
A small part of her, which even she refuses to acknowledge, dreams of one bit more. She hopes, someday, she might find a lykiao to share her dream, her life, and herself with.
Orb purpose?: Astra's orb is the center of one of the most important aspects of her powers. Although no one knows this, and most believe it simply innate, Astra's ability to travel to her realm, or her kingdom- whatever you may wish to call it- stems from the orb of her tail. It is only with her orb that she is able to "teleport" to her realm, which is why she often uses it in battles with those simply misunderstood. Although, perhaps it is not so accurate to call it teleporting. It is much more accurate to compare it to two things- the flaming of a phoenix, and the fading of light as a shadow consumes it. When she has hold of the creature, her tail will burn brightly, and starting there flames will spread across her body, as well as the one she wishes to transport, though she must be touching the one she brings. Oddly enough, though they do not seem it, these flames do no harm even as they are consumed by shadows, for as Astra and her chosen fall into darkness, in her own land, they emerge once more in a burst of light.
