Vimerias are a species designed to allow freedom on character traits and development with almost no limitations, alongside a helpful and kind community to interact with and support you, fun events, and public services such as breeding. You can create and develop nearly any kind of character here! We are doing our best to make the species super easy to join and leave and we’re always taking suggestions for new traits, events, changes, and anything to overall better the species.
Background Info:
Vimerias are a newly found species of sentient mammal that naturally inhabit dry deciduous forests, wetlands, grasslands, plains and fields. They appear outwardly dog-like having a nearly identical body form and structure, but are actually marsupials - much like the now-extinct Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) that they are most closely related to - and are believed to be the last living species in that family. However, Vimerias are much less shy and aggressive than their extinct siblings, and are much more easy-going and curious.
They on average grow to the size of a larger, long-bodied wolf with very soft but dense fur. Vimerias are mainly carnivorous animals and skilled hunters, moving quickly and quietly when they hunt, but they will also eat vegetation and insects when meat is scarce. They will communicate through snuffling noises, yapping, and dry barks. Vimerias can stand and walk upright on their hind legs, using their tail to balance, much like a kangaroo. One of the few key differences between a Vimeria and the Tasmanian Tiger is simply a Vimeria's pouch faces forward like a kangaroo's does, while the latter's faces out back. Vimeria babies are most commonly called puppies, kits, or joeys, and stay in either parent’s pouch until they are juvenile, which takes up to 3 weeks. Vimeria are born hairless and relatively underdeveloped like all marsupials, but they do grow and mature quickly in comparison. When not bearing young, Vimerias have been know to store precious items, momentos and keepsakes in their pouches. Following in the Thylacine's footsteps, Vimeria of both sex possess pouches, which is a particularly rare occurrence in marsupials. It's been speculated that Vimeria's have diverged from Thylacines and eventually evolved to possess the forward-facing pouch to keep their young from falling out due to their bipedalism, alongside the pointy upright ears and excess fur to help them survive in their habitats.
Since Vimerias are domestic animals with many varied interests they are the ideal companions for many people, and more and more Vimerias are popping up with breeders, in pet stores, and in shelters or rescues. Due to habitat loss, farmers actively killing them to protect livestock and to illegal poaching and hunting in the wild, their populations have started to diminish, and people are now encouraged to adopt and care for a Vimeria to prevent them from meeting the same ill fate as their relatives.
Named for his similar colors and stripes, our mascot here is named Benjamin after the last known Thylacine.

-Don't mini-mod this thread! Leave questions to be answered by staff, unless it's something that has previously been answered and you can quote the previous one for
-Do not spam. Includes excessive "good-lucks", unnecessary "bumps", posting a form after a competition ended, or attempting to guilt trip anybody for any reason
-Failure to follow these rules or constantly disrupting the community may result in a strike. If you rack up too many strikes, you will be banned from the species. Banned users may not post on any Vimeria threads, participate in events, breed or trade or edit their vims, enter any contests for them, provide service to other users, or create or sell designs. We do reserve the right to warrant bans without any strikes beforehand.
General stuff:
-Vimerias are a closed species and you may not make one without the relevant permission.
-Vimeria cannot be co-owned as it poses too many potential problems and conflicts.
-You may own as many Vimerias as you want and develop/roleplay/headcanon them any way you'd like. They can be any sexuality, gender, or romantic orientation and have whatever and however many relationships they choose (romantic relationships that are incestuous or involve joeys x adults are prohibited however)
-You may add non-rarity edit traits, expression edits, removable accessories to your Vimeria whenever you'd like. No-rarity edits must be approved afterward. Accessories or expressions don't need to be
-Anybody can create a growth, transfer, myo, etc. All growths/transfers/customs must be approved by a staff member before the Vim counts officially and is able to be used (traded, bred, etc). MYO's may be custom-lined.
-Vimerias can be traded for other Vimerias, vimeria items, credits, unused MYO slots, or sold for currency. Free main-adopts are not allowed to be sold for any form of currency that is not Vimeria-related unless they have had items used on them to give them some monetary value. Main-adopt Vimerias from OTA's (offer to adopts) or Vimerias made from MYO's may be sold. Un-used MYO slots may also be sold for real-life currency, but for no more than what the shops are currently priced at. Any and all transactions involving real-life currency must be arranged and done fully off-site per CS rules. Also please use common sense and don't try to scam anyone.
-Any user may create fake pre-made designs and sell them to other users who wish to use them as MYO's. Like any MYO, the user must own a MYO of the correct rarity and the design must be approved by a staff member afterward
Cooldowns:
Gacha
-You get up to 2 rolls with the gacha machine every calendar month, any time in the month
Trading:
-You must own any single Vimeria for a week before it can be traded
-You can trade up to 3 times every calendar month, any time in the month
-If you are only trading items, or un-made MYO slots (no official Vimeria are involved), then the trade does not count toward cooldown
-Gifting has no cooldown and may be done at any time :D
Joeys, Breeding, & the Nursery
(All breeding-specific info can be found in detail in the nursery)
-joeys can grow 3 weeks after the day the batch is posted
-you get one nursery batch per 3 weeks - this starts when the ticket is accepted by an artist, not when the batch is posted
-there is no cooldown to how long you must own a vim to breed it, granted it has a breeding slot available and is an adult
For staff:
-Staff will not step in to decide who takes joeys from a nursery batch. If the owners of the parents can not come to an agreement, the joeys in question will remain in limbo and un-owned until they do.
No more than 3 uncommon adopts within every 10 adopts. One rare adopt every 25 adopts. One legendary every 50 adopts. There is no limit on common or no-rarity adopts. Main adopts may be custom-lined. OTA's/auctions are allowed however the majority have to be free.
Artist Trials:
Regular artists - 3 main adopts, 2 gachas
Nursery artists - 3 batches
All trial artists will receive [credit equivalent of an uncommon MYO slot] after the trial regardless if they are hired or not.
Required Monthly Activity:
All staff will get [credit equivalent of a UC MYO slot] each month they reach the required activity.
Regular artists - 2 main adopts, 2 gachas
Nursery artists - 2 batches
Other staff are a case-by-case basis.

---Failure to meet the requirements for an extended time without notice may possibly result in loss of your position.
Artists may choose to go into "ghost artist mode" if they get particularly busy and believe they can fulfill the monthly activity only partially. In ghost artist mode the artist will receive [credit equivalent of a common slot] in each calendar month they are able to create and judge 1 main adopt, or create 2 gachas. Ghost nursery artists will receive [credit equivalent of a common slot] in each calendar month they create 1 nursery batch.
Guest Artists will join us temporarily at random times and be able to create 3 main adopts and/or gachas. Guest artists will not be able to be hired onto the staff team unless they choose to go through a full official trial.

There are currently two ways to purchase things from the shop; through CS methods or through DA Points. This post focuses on CS methods. The shops do not currently accept real-life currency but will in the future. When the system is set up, credits will also be able to be used to trade in for things in the shops.
You can find the DA shop here ! We use a 1 USD = 100 points = 20C$ ratio throughout our shops.
In this CS shop you can either buy Vimeria-related things with C$ - using the C$ values here - or with pets of the same C$ equivalent. All pets must be at least rare; and if using pets, the lowest C$ value of their range is the price we use. The shops do not give out 'change'.
Mixed payments are allowed as long as they still add up :D
Everything here is non-refundable. Lower rarity items/myo's may be upgraded at any time if you cover the difference.

20C$ - 1 Ref Color Edit - lets you change the color of a Vimeria's tongue, paws, or eyes. 1 item = edit for 1 of the refs, not all 3
NURSERY ITEMS
700C$ - Breeding Cooldown Skip - allows you to skip the 3 week wait between requesting breedings and batches
150C$ - Insta-grow - lets a joey skip the 3 week wait to grow. any (ACCURATE) pre-growth may be approved right away.
300C$ - Bonus Breeding Slot - lets a Vim that's used all slots to have another batch. can't breed with any Vim it's bred with before.
150C$ - Joey # Selector - allows you to pick how many joeys are born in a nursery batch (you pick 1-4)
150C$ - Basic Auto-pass - auto-passes one rare/under trait on a parent to all joeys
300C$ - Legendary Auto-pass - auto-passes one legendary trait on a parent to all joeys
200C$ - Rare Breeding Mutation - after the regular rolls, the joeys will roll again for all rare & under traits{*} they do not have
this item does not affect the trait probability.
500C$ - Legendary Breeding Mutation - you pick any 3 legendary traits and it will roll for those for all joeys.
chance of receiving those traits using the item is bumped to 33%
800C$ - Lucky Breeding Mutation - after the regular rolls, this will roll again for ALL current traits in the species{*}
chance of receiving a rare trait after the regular rolls is bumped to 45% ; legendary is bumped to 33%
{*} = this does not apply to no-rarity edits, which are not rolled for.
More descriptive info on the items is on the DA shop. We will always take and consider suggestions for new items :)

FAQ + General Questions
- How do I get a Vimeria ?
There are currently 3 main ways to get a Vimeria; purchase a custom slot, roll in the gacha, or enter in main adopts! We are working on adding in more different ways to get vimeria which will be released in the future to make it easier to join the species, or to grow your character stash and give you more of them to love :)
-Customs can be bought here using C$/pets and can be bought using DA points here. You get full control over what design and colors and how the Vimeria looks, along with deciding whether it’s an adult or not, and can make the custom yourself or commission a someone else to do it for you.
-You can roll for a random pre-made Vimeria at the Gacha up to twice a month using C$/pets. These are a bit cheaper than buying an MYO (custom slot), but what you get is 100% random; you do not get to choose the design or colors and may get either a child or adult.
-The main way to get free Vimeria are main adopts; all you need to do look for any adopts you like with competitions that are open, fill out the form and meet and requirements, which will depend on which specific adopt you are trying out for.
*Note: A few adopts are auctions/paid adopts. The majority are free however :D
