what broke their heart?
At first you'd think "Oh my, what happened to this poor dear?" or "Who did this to her?" when you first meet Alice but the real story about it is kinda connected to who she is and her family..
This tails is to put it simply a are but quite common in her family a birth-defect that pops up in her family every few generations. It's a weakening in the tail that is very hard to notice, but then somewhere in the tail ( it slightly varies from member to member on the exact location ) there is a weak spot that is very fragile and one little pull results in a tear. That tear then heals to make this broken heart shape, members have gone to doctors to reshape the tail to try and bring it back to a heart shape but it never quite looks the same and doctors say it isn't a too serious defect to have in the tail and it's best just to leave it be. Though some have had way bigger tears then she has like her great aunt who got most of her tail looks more the two tear drops then a broken heart thanks to her sister ( who was a child at the time ) trying to cut, then sew it back to it's original shape but it got infected and more of it had to be removed as a result.The running story in her family says as to why they have this defect is that a long time ago a member of the family had a mate, who left them for another and the pain from that heartbreak they felt was so strong it passed through the generations as this rare defect, though she doesn't believe this story at all and thinks her family is just unlucky. She herself got this tear when her tail got stepped on and she pull away in pain too fast and it somehow tore right in the middle but there was a bit of blood and as a kid Alice didn't like blood and she freaked out. Her parents told her it was ok but she wouldn't have it and they had to take her to the doctor NOW. They fixed her up and told her her tail was fine but since it was kinda traumatizing to her and for a while she wouldn't even look at her tail and if she did she'd cry. Touching it was a Big no-no as she'd cry even more then run and hide somewhere. The crying and hiding has stopped but she still doesn't like her tail being touch at all.
She has gotten use to the look of her tail but she dose wish it was back in it's original heart shape she had as a child but she can't stand the though of surgery as then they would have to touch her tail. She dose hope that one day they'll find a cure or something for this defect as she'd hate for any of her grand-kids or even great grand-kids to have to deal with this and ending up hurt or traumatized like her.
So Alice may have grown up with this condition being common in her family and with it bearing no ill affects medically, it has taken a more traumatizing an painful turn on her though she has come to accept it as part of her and who she is that doesn't mean she likes it and wants her kids to bear though it or even look at it ever again in any form it may take.

tears streamed down his face, but he didnt make a single sound. instead he looked up at the stars and spoke a few words, “why? why did you lie?”


the stars are a lie. the stars we have been seeing have been dead for millions of years - we are only seeing the light thats left in space. so half of the constellations we see dont even exist.


that was just how akihiro was. he shone as bright as a star, but in reality he almost didnt exist. he was empty, his core was just empty space. darkness. kind of funny why hikaru fell in love with him.


hikaru fell in love with him because of the brightness that emitted off of akihiro, his bright smile and even brighter personality, completed with a contagious laugh. his unique style of clothing, his perfect blue eyes, everything. hikaru fell in love with him for the brightness of him, the illusion of him.


the first time akihiro broke down was when hikaru realized what a destructive person akihiro was, how his brightness was just an illusion. but he lived with it, he was madly in love with akihiro, after all.

“hey, technically im a star,” akihiro says one night, as theyre stargazing the sky above was littered with stars that marked our a road map to an undiscovered country.


”how are you a star? tell me how this works,” hikaru questions him. they were lying on the grass, in the middle of a forest that had a wide open clearing.


akihiro proceeded to explain - how he was almost non-existent, like stars. the brightness of him is just an illusion, but nothing more. “but you saved me,” he added at the end.


thats where the lie comes in.

i never saved you. nobody can save you. thoughts ran through hikarus mind that night as tears drifted down his cheeks. akihiro had his back turned on him, and he was walking away. what happened between them only a few minutes ago should never be shared. all what happened is akihiro broke hikaru, and that was that.
