Is This Keipah As Tough As They Look;(Both Wip)
Xolo glared at the guy coming toward him, hoping to scare them away. He didn't want to fight. He hadn't wanted to fight last time either, and probably wouldn't next time. They kept approaching.
"Stop. I don't want you to get hurt," Xolo said, startling the attacker.
"It's you who's gonna get hurt," they replied with a sneer.
"Yes I know, but I might lash out at you and I don't want to do that. I don't want to fight. Why do you?" Xolo asked.
The attacker paused in his footsteps, "I was dared, cause you're the toughest guy 'round."
"No I ain't. I just hold my ground so I don't get teased. Doesn't mean I'm tough. Just means I'm stupid, but not stupid enough to hurt back," Xolo explained.
"So you'll never fight back?" they asked with a smirk rhetorically. They ran off to tell their friends. Xolo sighed. The teasing would come, he knew it. He continued back on his way home to his dads, who were both worried.
"Xolo, will you answer us this time about where you got the scars and bruises?" one of them asked. Xolo, considered telling the truth but was worried by what they might do.
"A dog attacked me because I accidentally walked near its owner," he lied.
"You need to tell us the truth," the other dad said.
"Ok! OK! There are these other boys, and-and, they pick fights with me and beat me up, but I don't wanna run cause they'll tease me, but I don't fight back because I don't wanna get in trouble!!" he whined.
His dads looked at each other with a spark in their eyes. "We got this," they said and went to work writing notes and calling people.
The next day seemed exactly the same. Xolo trudged off to school, went through the school day that he deemed not lough enough, and started on his way home. Again he was met midway home. But this time, their whole gang showed up.
"Lil' Stevie here said you wouldn't run away but that you wouldn't fight, that right?" The biggest of them asked.
Xolo nodded slowly. He wished his parents were here to do something.
"Good," he grinned and started on his way to attack Xolo. His gang trailed behind him.
Xolo watched them approach and something broke. He didn't want to get beaten up. He was just sick of it, and even if he didn't actually fight back, he wasn't going to just sit there this time! As their leader advanced within range, Xolo shoved him away.
"Stop!" he said, but then saw the leader.
At only a shove, their leader had been sent 10 meters away. Xolo was stronger than he thought.
He was, indeed, as strong as he looked. The gang gathered around the leader, who was on the ground with scraped hands and legs. A sharp noise broke the air. Sirens. Worried he would get in trouble, Xolo pelted home before his parents got back from their work. They were confused, seeing Xolo in the house when they arrived, but were distracted by a knocking on their door.
"This is the police, open up!" they heard. Xolo hid in his room.
"Your son beat up another kid who has horrific bruises and scraping on him. We are afraid that he needs to be put in jail," the police explained. The parents plan had backfired, the police wanted their sun instead of the attackers.
"There must be some sort of mistake!! They always are attacking him and he said that he doesn't fight back!" he parents tried to reason.
"Ask him yourself," they said.
"Xolo?" his parents called.
Xolo emerged. "Yes?"
"Did you beat up another kid?" one of his dads asked.
"No! I just pushed him away. I did it harder than I meant to and I must've hurt him really bad, but it was self defense! He and his gang were gonna attack me!" Xolo explained.
"Officer, if he had let them, I could have been really bad for Xolo's health, and scrapes and bruises can heal. Please!" His parents pointed out.
"Ok, I'll let your son off with a warning and monitor what happens with these fights after school. If you fight back, son, you are going to jail. If they seem to attack first, they will. That makes it just, and honest," the Officer decided.
"Thank you!" his parents sighed.
The officer nodded and left.
Over the months, multiple gangs and loners were arrested for picking fights with Xolo. Many, after seeing that Xolo was under protection of the law, stopped picking fights and warned others not to. Xolo still retains the scars he had back then o this day, but he is safe from any further abuse.
Wow I'm really bad at drawing them..
