The forest is so dark, sometimes you're not very sure whether it's day or night.
Either way- you journey on. You hear these parts are very dangerous but it doesn't rattle you. Danger is the thrill of adventure!

Not very cautious of where you put your paws... you are suddenly swept up, entangled in thorny vines and thistles!
The culprit is an earth colour kalon with unforgiving eyes.

How did you escape?"
It took a while for the Leimomi to overcome to shock, but when she did she was face to face with the menacing kalon. "You nusiances have nearly destoryed this forest,and the trees as well!" She growled. "It`d be a great deed to this forest to strangle you right now!"

Leimomi struggled against the thistles, but it only became harder to breathe.

"W-what do you mean?" Leimomi struggled to blurt out.
"Uggh, what a imbecile! The people of the town have been plaguing this forest for years. Cutting down the trees for their meaningless bars and shops, they`re destorying their own history and this place in the process!"

"What history, why do these woods mean so much to you?" Leimomi said, hoping the question would distract the kalon long enough for her to sneak-grab her weapon.

"The trees are what mean so much, they contain the history of this magical world and the history of those foolish kalons aswell,they are like what you call books."
Leimomi took a closer look at the trees, the kalons story seemed to be true. She had never noticed it before, but the trees were marked with some variation of the local language.

"Well, even if you kill me. Wouldn`t the kalons still destory the forest? I could make sure they don`t destory the trees anymore."
Belladona growled, "You kalons are slippery folk, i`d have no way of knowing that you`d ever furfill your side of the deal!"

"I`ll give you my armour and my mace." I could not continue this quest without them. I`m descended from the Atlantian, and we always keep our word, espically when sworn on our weapon. Balsam sighed, he knew the Atlantians, this kalon had the marking of them. besides, it wouldn`t hurt to let one of those pesky kalons go. The thistles retracted and Leimomi was free.

How did you escape?: "The forest was as black as your own shadow. I could barely see my own paw. I started to feel dizzy, and started going in circles. I must have been insane. Until, I climbed a tree, and when I reached the top, it was day. I never felt so relieved to see the sun and the blue sky. From up top, I could see my destination. I had to go North. it was at least a 4 Mile walk, but I had to continue on. I was restless. I never stopped for food, or slept. I feared the creatures would find me. I started to hallucinate. There were my friends, playing, having fun, but as I approached my vision, they disappeared. I decided to stop and sleep for the night. I dreamt of Monsters and dragons that night. They were in war. battling. killing. battle cries filled the air. I woke up from my strange dream, finding myself in the same place I rested. I quickly searched through my belongings, checking if any of them were stolen. Luckily, they were all there. I proceeded to journey through the dark forest, until I heard a twig snap behind me. I froze right in my tracks. my eyes darted back in forth, seeking whatever was following me. A figure emerged from behind a tree, showing its large fangs and yellow eyes staring into my soul. It was very big. Almost as tall as a tree. It was a Drake. I remembered reading about Drakes in a book. They're flightless dragons that have large fangs, like a sabertooth tiger. It had a club tail with sharp spikes on it, and eyes that can never look away when it makes eye contact. They are quite rare, and are endangered due to hunting. I didn't know what to do. It let out an ear-piercing roar, snapping me out of my trance, and running the other way. It caught up. fast. It cornered me, growling deeply, and drooling on my body. I thought I was going to die. Until the sun glared into view, making the scaled monster squint, and squeal in pain. It must not like the sun. It ran away, leaving a trail of white scales. That's when it hit me. The dark forest was dark, not sunny. I ran to the direction of the sun, and I found myself in a field. I looked behind me, and I realized, that I had exited the Dark Forest. I was so relived I fell to my feet. I started to feel the ants biting my back as I laid on their nest, but I didn't care. I was finally out of that horrible place. That's when I stood up, and ran, no, galloped to my destination; my home.

Mimi stared into the kalons eyes
"I'm not afraid of you" she shouted
"Oh? You're not?" the kalon replied
"I'm not! So let me go!" Mimi shouted back.
"Hmmmm?" The kalon exclaimed, clearly interested, "Then answer this riddle!"

"What word can be written forward backward or upside down and can still be read from left to right?"

You could see in her eyes, mimi was clearly terrified.

she tried to wiggle away, but it was no use.
She thought about what her last words would be
Then it hit her,

"The answer is NOON, as in afternoon."
The kalon became visibly angry
"Well this is no fun." They exclaimed.
The kalon tried to slam mimi into the ground, but luckily mimi wriggled free,
she made a run for it,
she ran through the forest
she looked back to see that the kalon wasn't chasing her.
she sighed, and slowed down,
she was panting. sweating and she felt like she could pass out.
she finally made it back home.
she was still shaken up,
all she could think about doing was sleeping,
so she did just that.

I escaped but using two flint Albis had in my pocket, while they are good for fires they can actually help cut stuff as well.
Setting a fire would be dangerous though Louis took the chance, once burning just enough Gladis stepped on in carefully making
sure that it was fully put out.

I had been trekking through the forest for hours, looking for firewood. My foolish companions had forgotten to bring some. I'd told them to collect some, and they'd just lounged around, waving me off. It seemed I had to do everything! I had gotten a pretty good stack collected, and I was, to be honest, feather proud of it. I sighed, whistling a tune, and closing my eyes. Suddenly, I stepped in the wrong place. Thorny vines plunged into my skin as they lifted me in the air. I let out a shriek as I flew, hanging from a tree branch. An earth colored kalon emerged from the shadows. "Are- are you a demon?" I asked cautiously. I tried wriggling in the vines, but they simply cut into my skin more. I yelped and growled. I'm a smooth tone, she asked me, "Now tell me why I should let you go?" I frowned. "I'm just collecting firewood. I don't mean any harm. We're just passing by!" The kalon laughed. "Right- a well known assassin is just passing by." I gulped- how did she know? She tilted her head, and asked, "If you tell me who sent you- I'll set you free." I shook my head slightly, "I'm not here to kill you. Honest. I want to do something good in my life so we're collecting crystals to stop the demons!" I squealed as the vines closed in tighter to my wriggling. She nodded, and sarcastically answered, "Rigghhhtt." M eyes widened, as I squeaked, "Please. Just let me go. We're trying to save Kalokari!" She shook her head with a slight chuckle. "Fine. Pay me 500 coins and I'll let you go. Otherwise.." she ran a a sharp fingernail across my neck, drawing a bit of blood. I nodded slowly. "Ok. Just. Just let me go." She cut the ropes with a long, sharp knife, and I picked up the wood I'd dropped. She led me to my camp, with the knife at my back, prodding me if I wasn't moving faster. When we reached camp, I dug around my bag, pulling out an amount that was more than suffiecient and dropping it in her hand. I'd barely escaped that day, but it'll always be a tale to tell.

Jay struggled against the thorns. “Hey, what’s the big idea?!” He looked at the kalon who stood before him, a chill running down his spine as he met a pair of cold yellow eyes.

“Tell me, stranger, why should I let you go?” The kalon’s voice was soft but gruff, with a sort of low rumble to it. “You’re a trespasser here. I could easily throw you to the beasts that live within this forest. Why shouldn’t I let them devour you alive?”

Jay laughed nervously, unsure how to respond. “Ehe… well, I mean… Wouldn’t it be a tragedy to let these devilishly good looks go to waste?” He gave a wink and a smirk and a light toss of his hair, trying to show off just how handsome he was.

An unamused glare from the kalon before him caused his grin to fade pretty quickly. “Okay, okay, I can see I’m not your type. Well, uh… do you like gems? I have lots of gems! I can go get them for you if you just let me-”

“The fruit of nature is more valuable than your pitiful currency,” the stranger spat, his lip curled in a sneer. “So no, I will not allow you to go grab your bag.”

Jay blinked, a bit taken aback. “I mean, gems are kind of a natural thing, coming from rocks and all…” a snarl made him laugh nervously again, “...but I can tell that’s not your thing! So, uh, I’ll let it go.” He bit his lip, not sure how to proceed.

The kalon crossed his forelegs over his chest. “I’m beginning to lose my patience.”

Jay shook his head quickly. “N-no, wait! Please don’t feed me to the beasts!” He whimpered a little. “Come on, man, you gotta let me go… There’s… there’s a girl, back there, she’s waiting for me!” A raised eyebrow encouraged him to continue. “Okay, like, I know this is gonna sound super sappy, but like, the reason I even came out here was to try to find something nice for her. She had these golden bracelets that she wore all the time, and I think they were pretty special to her? But she had to give them away. Because monsters were attacking everyone. So, uh, I thought I’d get her some flowers or something to make up for that. So I gotta get back to her! Please, just let me go!”

The kalon stayed silent for a bit, and Jay’s worry grew with each passing second. Suddenly he burst into a fit of giggles. “Oh my gosh, you really thought I was gonna feed you to the forest creatures?! You should’ve seen your face!” He fell to the ground, holding his paws to his belly as he laughed. “Oh, that was priceless! I haven’t had a good laugh like that in ages.” He chuckled and got to his feet, cutting Jay loose from the trap. “Try not to be so gullible next time, eh?”

Shirley felt the thorns pierce her skin, she yelped out in pain. Frantically, she looked around for Sirkus. Her heart pounded. Was he taken away? Her chest heaving, Shirley didn't know what to do.

"Shirley? Are you out there? I'm.. trapped." Came Sirkus' voice.

She sighed in relief, closing her eyes. Her ears perked, someone was coming near them. Struggling, she called out to them. "Help! Me n' my friend are trapped! Please, help us get out!" Shirley saw the Kalon that approached them. They had striking green eyes that seemed to eerily glow in the dark forest.

"Tell me, stranger, why should I let you go?" Their voice was cool, calm.

Shirley grunted, struggling to get into a position to face the culprit. "We-Well, you see here... Me n' Sirkus were just passing through. We wanted to get to the nearest town to rest, I-I'm sorry if we disturbed you and yer land, we mean no harm, honest." She explained.

The culprit glared at Shirley, studying her. "Why should I believe you? You could've been trying to kill me. Though... for a price, I'll let you and your friend go." They chuckled.

"I have 10 gems, and that's it... It's in my bag, I also have some fish bones but those are kinda useless." Shirley stated, sweat tripping down the side of her head. "You can have 'em."

"What's your name?" They demanded, walking over to Shirley, grabbing her bag and inspecting it.

"Sh-Shirley."

"Mm, and I take it he's Sirkus?" The stranger Kalon moved their head in the direction of Sirkus.

Shirley nodded. She could only watch as the culprit pilfered her bag of all its contents. Frowning, she said, "Whats yer name? I told ya mine, its only fair."

The stranger scoffed, and shook their head. "Doroken. What's it to you?"

"Well, Doroken, how about you can take our gems and fishbones, and if you let us go, you can join our party! We have room for one more." Shirley offered.

Doroken glared at Shirley, studying her, then scoffed. "Why?" They spat. "So you can just knock me out and steal your money back? Fat chance."

"Honest! I-I mean you seem a bit mean but I'm sure it gets awfully lonely out here... We could use the compn'y." Shirley exclaimed.

A cool breeze pushed through the forest. They turned around, and grumbled a couple of words to themselves. Shirley desperately tried to see their facial expression, but to no avail. Suddenly, they whirled around, and came in close to her face, their breaths mingling.

"Fine. But I won't enjoy it. I've got my eye on you two. If you even try to betray me, I'll make sure it's the last thing you do." Doroken snapped their fingers, the thorny vines and thistles freeing them. She sighed in relief, rubbing her body. They kicked the bag back to Shirley. "You can keep the bag and the bones, but I'm keeping the gems." Doroken began walking ahead.
