★ What is a Celestial Dragon? ★
Celestial Dragons(CDs) are a small breed of dragon, closely related to Fu Dogs. They have a silky, ethereal mane that swirls and shines like a galaxy. They vary in size from a small fox to a large dog, and are covered in a thin coat of soft fur. Their pupils are star shaped, and every CD has a star marking in their coat or mane. Please make sure to read the species rules before trying out!
This babe is based on a red panda ;w;
for this dragon, tell me how they got to where they are today. What are some major things that's happened to them in the past? If they did something different, would they be something else now? Are they happy? are they sad? do they regret what they've done before? Write a story to tell me! Art is allowed also.
Ends July 15th, 2017. Good Luck! ♥

Dove laid outside her cozy treehouse, relaxing in the dappled spots of sunlight filtering through the protective leaves of the trees above her. She stretched out a bit as she stood up and head into her treehouse, brushing through the hanging vines that cover the doorway. She took a seat on a pile of hay she gathered for a bed, taking a moment to admire the scraps of paper tacked to the walls.
Dove loves to draw, making her own pieces of papyrus and special, shaped rocks that are known for leaving dark marks on many surfaces. In the forest she resides in, a large variety of wildlife can be found, which has given her a goal to sketch and see them all. She has a profound interest in just about everything around her, something odd for a Celestial Dragon, but she doesn’t care too much that she’s different. She believes every living creature is unique in its own way, with its own behaviors and views on the world. From the fungi that grow on the forest floor to the birds that soar up above, every creature is important. And art is just something she loves.
Though, her interest was thanks to someone close to her when she was younger. Her father was an artist, painting magnificent and powerful pictures on pieces of wood and thick papyrus. He loved painting wildlife, and Dove took inspiration from his works to try her own drawing. Often times she'd sit for hours with him, watching his paintbrush intensely. Sometimes she'd even become so enamored he'd laugh and snap her out of it, causing her to shake her head. She loved how much he cared about every brush stroke, focusing on every inch of the canvas. Sure, she doesn’t paint like him, but art is her passion. If it wasn’t for him, she would be different as a whole; most likely she’d have some completely different hobby or interest, and possibly even be a traveler. Before she found out about his art, Dove wanted to travel the world to see all the sights; but she found him painting alone one day and quietly joined him. Thanks to her interest in art, she remains in the forest and rarely leaves it.
As she examined the strokes she had created with the rocks, she remembered her father. He had such a different and special view of the world, and Dove loved listening to him as he spoke his mind or told her important lessons. A familiar memory resurfaced, and she recalled a conversation that, like the others, left such a mark on her mind.
Dove romped playfully through the field, her father slowly pacing behind. He promised her they'd be able to stargaze that night, out a little ways from home. The two celestials made their way to the center of the field, laying down in the tall grass. Dove grinned widely as her eyes followed the stars through the thick blanket of dark blues that was the night sky. A subtle breeze blew through the field, warm but comforting. They both observed the twinkling lights above, but then her father quietly spoke up.
-
"Dove, do you think the stars are important?"
The question baffled her, but hesitantly she responded. "Not really, no."
"What if I told you they are? Each and every one of them up there. Each star shines brightly in its own way, serves its own purpose in the universe, even if there is an endless number of them."
Dove continued with her eyes locked on the sky. "I never really thought about it like that." Her father looked at her and smiled, "no one really does, honey. Although, there are some that do."
-
When she was younger, she never really quite understood what he meant. Now that she is older the words all made sense; he spoke of every creature having its own unique purpose, and that she had one as well. For her, it was to watch over this forest, and to create works of art in her own special way. Dove would never forget that crucial lesson he taught her so many ages ago. A gentle creak of the treehouse snapped her back to reality, and she glanced over her drawings again.
Upon the treehouse walls are rough sketches of red foxes, raccoons, and various kinds of birds. Sometimes she’d even spy lost celestials wandering through, though unfortunately not keen enough to spy her treehouse draped in leaves and vines. She’d sketch them, curious and cautious, making sure they don’t harm the environment. It was good that they didn't know of her presence, as it means if they were to make bad choices, she could catch them off guard. Once they left the area, she hangs the new doodles on her wall and takes a walk around for more subjects to bring to life on paper.

How they got to where they are today;
Ollie comes from a very loving background. His childhood is filled with wonderful memories of the times he shared with his loved ones. However, as he got older, he developed a taste for adventure. While grateful of his privileged life, he wanted to see what more the world had to offer. Thus when he was old enough to look after himself, he gathered a few of his belongings into a backpack, hugged his loved ones, said good-bye, and set out on a journey of discovery.
It was a bit difficult at first; Ollie had a rough idea of where he wanted to go, but he wasn't exactly sure how to get there. Luckily he had always been a very charismatic and likable dragon, so eventually he was able to figure things out by asking for help from the people around him.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Soon, our lovable little dragon found himself living out his childhood dreams. He was exploring many of the world's most interesting places. Whether it was the breathtaking mountain ranges of Asia or the dense jungles of the Amazon, you can bet Ollie had been there. Throughout his travels he had begun accumulating different knick-knacks to remember the time he had spent in a particular place. Perhaps even more interesting than the souvenirs, however, were the dragons he met along the way. They taught him all about the customs of their cultures and shared their traditional cuisine with him.
Eventually, Ollie decided it was time for him to find a place to call his own and settle down for a little while. This was a bit of a dilemma, because while he wanted a permanent residence, he also didn't want to give up on his adventures. This led to him to take up a job as an author in a series of books about his exciting experiences. He found a cozy house in the bustling city of London, which came equipped with an office suited perfectly for his book-writing needs.
Currently, Ollie spends a lot of his time at his desk working on his book series titled "The Workings of our World." The shelves around his office have been filled with all the items and pictures he collected through his travels. Whenever he has visitors over who inquire about the strange artifacts, Ollie will often sit them down on the sofa in front of the fireplace while he recalls the story behind the item in question.
Because he has built such a large name for himself through his books, he is often invited by schools to visit and talk to the younger dragons about his experiences. Ollie has already begun inspiring a younger generation to explore the world around him, and he hopes that the drive for knowledge will continue on and help make the world a better place.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
XXXXX"Excuse me? Is this the office of mister Olivander?" A black celestial dragon was peaking their head around the corner of the doorway into Ollie's office, his eyes scanning the room for the dragon whom he was there to meet with.
"Yes sir! And please, call me Ollie. There's no need for formalities my good fellow!" Ollie stood up from his desk, took his reading glasses off, and placed them atop the pile of books that he had been meaning to put away for the past two weeks. "Please, come have a seat by the fireplace. We have much to discuss about the publication of volume 3."
"Good to finally meet you in person Oliv-, er, Ollie." As the dragon began walking to the sofa, a small wooden figure sitting upon one of the many shelves caught his eye. "Ah I remember these," he mused, "I used to have one as a child."
"Yes, I received that as a birthday gift when I was just a lad. I remember it very clearly; I had been bugging my mother for months about wanting this figurine ever since we passed a shop window in which it was displayed. I was reading an adventure series at the time, and wanted nothing more than to act out the scenes from the story with my own toys."
"So you've always been an adventurer at heart then?"
"I suppose so," Ollie's eyes were now fixed on the toy, and he closed them as his mind fluttered back to the times of his childhood.
"You know," he said, opening them again, "I always knew I wanted to explore the world. I never thought I'd actually get the chance to, at least certainly not to the extent that I have. I grew up on stories of heroes exploring lost tombs and knights rescuing princesses. Every day after school I'd come home and tell my parents all about a story idea I had fabricated during school, when I should have been learning about adding and subtracting fractions." Ollie couldn't help but laugh at the memory of his younger self daydreaming during class and then not having a clue as to how to complete his homework.
"I think your younger self would be very proud of you, Ollie," the other dragon beamed at him; he couldn't help it, Ollie's happiness was contagious.
"Thank you, sir. I think so too."

How they got to where they are today;
He's a poet who lives the Himalayas, amongst the red pandas of Nepal. He moved there after leaving home, where his creative side was nurtured by his mother but beaten out of him by his father. His mother cried and begged him to stay, but deep down she knew that he had to go, and so eventually told him how proud she was to have him as a son, and let him fly the nest.
While writing, the native pandas would curl up next to him to keep him warm in the snowy landscape of the mountains. His similar markings, but larger size, made the pandas think that he was a god, or at least a demigod, and that he was there to protect them. He did correct them, but promised that he would protect them nevertheless.
He struggled for many years, writing only what he thought would sound good to a publisher, and consistently got rejected over and over. After three years of constantly getting told no, he was ready to give up and move back home. The day before he was set to leave, a letter arrived to his den.
His mother had died. Her funeral was too soon for him to be there, and so he stayed where he was and fell into a severe depression for many months. The red pandas would bring him gifts in order to try and cheer him up, but to no avail. He simply could not feel happy.
Within these months, he poured his heart out into his diary, and put raw emotion and dark themes into his writing. After a while, he decided to try to put some vents into a poetic structure. That's when he realised that his tactics were all wrong. His poetry needed to be personal, realistic and relatable, not some fancy-schmancy language in a ABABCC rhyme scheme. He needed to write for him, not for them.
Those poems that he wrote during his depression were accepted by publishers immediately, and he became one of the most famous contemporary poets in the world. He overcame his depression and was finally happy. He continues to live in the Himalayas, where his red panda friends encourage him to keep writing, and he is at peace.
