Next Judging Occurs December 30th, 2017 - January 4th, 2018
This is subject to extension. If, for some reason, I am too busy to help with judging/announce the winners, the end date will be extended since it would be pointless to keep it inactive.
[Welcome!]
To the Viscets' Ongoing Artist Comps!
Here will be a Artist Competition for Nursery & Hatchery Artists. At the end of each judging period, entries will be judged and a select number hired. A Cover will be posted announcing the winners.
[Rules and Information]
✦ We're hoping to select between 2 to 5 new Nursery (& hatchery) Artists.
✦ The amount of winners chosen will depend on the quality and quantity of entries.
✦ We are primarily looking for Nursery Artists or Nursery & Hatchery Artists. You may still apply to be only a Hatchery artist, but this is not preferred.
✦ Make yourself a cover. Make all your entries as color-ins of that cover.
✦ No more than 4 Nursery entries total.
✦ No more than 3 Hatchery entries total.
✦ If you were not hired for this search, you may enter again with different designs/attempts later.
✦ There is no time limit on entries; all artists work at their own pace.
✦ No copying, be it other artist's entries or other artist's designs in general, from anywhere.
✦ Please keep to the given mutations and make no personal line edits, unless it is for Hair (an Uncommon Mutation).
✦ All batches are purely conceptual. These are not real, nor will they be adopted out.
✦ If you need help with acquiring the PNG images or turning the canvas, feel free to ask.
✦ The lines given in this comp are to be used for no other purpose than entry in this comp.
✦ Nursery Artists: your purpose is to mix two parents to produce an offspring that looks like both parents in some way.
✦ Hatchery Artists: your purpose is to utilize an egg and use only one parent to influence the design. Must be less than 50% of the parent's design, if a single parent it must be less than 25% of the design. If you're confused, see our hatchery thread for examples.

Here is a How-To Guide by Mint Chipit explains some tips & tricks that may help you out
[Nursery Designs]
✦ Take 2 of the provided staff-owned Viscets below of opposite sex and mix their designs as you would a normal Nursery batch.
[Hatchery Designs]
✦ Viscet Eggs are white with colored spots that indicate the Viscling's colors.
✦ Viscets have a system concerning the inheritance of mutations; please see them here. To see their growth times and rules regarding nursery artists, go here. Your demonstration of inheritance and line edits will help you.
✦ To know that you are able to use the provided coding, please try to mimic, in some way, the forms used by the current nursery batches. If you need help, just ask; PM Mint Chip if you would like a skeleton of the format.✦ Select one of the pre-made hatchery pairings w/ pre-picked egg palette.
✦ Hatchery visclings do not have an egg stage as they come as an egg palette.
✦ Submissions for hatchery batches do not have an inheritance from the parents. They have 2 natural chanced traits (1-25 for uncommon / 1-7 for rare) and naturally the requesters can submit penn diagrams or definite trait potions with the submissions for specific mutations. Penn diagrams roll at the same numbers as chanced traits do they are simply rolled x2 or x3 times instead.
✦ For mutations; please see them here. For growth times on hatchery batches, they are much like nursery. The viscling is posted and remains a viscling for 7 days before it's grown to adult, unless a growth to adult is selected.
✦ To know that you are able to use the provided coding, please try to mimic, in some way, the forms used by the current hatchery batches. If you need help, just ask; PM Mint Chip if you would like a skeleton of the format.
