Background: "This little lady was originally bought to work in parades. In the early stages, the owners noticed how close quarters with more than one equine tended to result in an injury to the neighboring horses and/or riders, but they decided to use her anyway. During her first parade she naturally threw in a few bucks and kicks resulting with her rider and three other equines being injured. The owners tried putting her in more parades in hopes that she would settle down and get used to it, but unfortunately it wasn't very long before she injured a few pedestrians, and to avoid any lawsuits the owners made the decision to put her down. It was at the slaughterhouse that she was rescued and brought here. She now has a fear of crowds and loud noises, can no longer participate in shows, and needs lots of love and care before she will trust anyone riding her again."

Task 1:
Earning Tarry's Trust After The Things She Has Been Through Was Difficult But We Slowly Earned It. Jewel Went To Pick Up Terry After She Heard Of Her Story, Jewel Wanted To Help A Poor Mare. Once She Picked Up Tarry, It Was Rough Getting Her On The Trailer, Tarry Didn't Like Enclosed Areas Due To Being In Such Tight Quarters At Her Original Home. As Jewel And A Stable Hand Pulled Up The End Of The Trailer It Made A Loud Sound Scaring Tarry And She Started To Neigh And Kick Causing More Noise To Be Let Out. Jewel Had To Ignore The Cries And Stamping In Order To Get The Mare Home Faster. Jewel Did Feel Terrible About It But She Had No Other Choice, She Opened The Side Window Slowly, And Tossed In A Few Apples And Sugar Cubes And Slowly Closed It. The Ride Home Was Smooth, Jewel Called Her Husband, Jack, And Told Him That She'll Need Help Getting This Horse Into A Pasture Without Getting Hurt. He Said That He'd Open Up A Empty Pasture And Have Her Back Into It.

[An Hour Passes]

Jewel Backs Into The Empty Pasture But She Accidentally Hit The Side Of The Fence. Tarry Freaked Out More, And Started Kicking Against The Back Door, Jewel Quickly Turned Off The Truck. She Ran To The Back Of The Trailer And Lowered It, The Loud Noise From It Made Tarry Jump Out Of The Trailer. When She Jumped Out She Hit The Grassy Ground Her Hoof Didn't Get The Right Way And So She Fell Down Onto The Floor. She Rolled And Rose Up Again, Running All Around The Pasture, Neighing Like Crazy, Jewel Looked In The Trailer And Saw All The Sugar Cubes Gone, But Not The Apples. Jewel Slowly Thought Of It, Tarry Didn't Like Apples. That's Good, It'll Be A Big Help For Later. Jewel Pulled The Trailer Door Back Up And Pulled Out The Truck As Quick As She Could. While That Happened Jack Closed The Gates And Latched It Together. They Watched In Silence As She Ran Around, They Both Knew She Would Tire Her Self Out At Some Point.

[That Night]

When It Was Around Midnight, Jewel Heard Loud Screaming Like Neighs Coming From Outside. She Put On Her Jacket And Put On Her Boots, Walking Out Side To See Tarry Still Trotting Around, Pacing. Jewel Sighed, She Hasn't Calmed Down Yet, Jewel Slowly Slipped Up On To The Fence And Sat There. She Whistled A Bit, Trying To Get Tarry's Attention, That Work And The Mare Stopped Pacing And Walked Ever So Slowly To Jewel. Once She Reached Her, Jewel Saw How Drenched She Was With Sweat, She Sighed, She Tossed A Sugar Cube In The Air, Tarry Smelt It And Jumped Up Slightly And Caught It. Jewel Was Surprised, This Mare Who Didn't Even Trust Jewel Did A Trick Right In Front Of Her. Jewel Slowly Got Down Off The Fence, In The Pasture Side, She Walked About 3 Feet Away From It And Stood In Front Of Tarry. Tarry Didn't Want The Feeling Of Another Presence, But Stood Her Ground, Jewel Stepped Forward A Bit With Her Hand Out With A Sugar Cube. That's When Tarry Stepped Back A Bit, And So Then She Stopped. "C'mon Girl, You Can Trust Me To The Fullest Extent," Jewel Said Softly, Tarry Inched Forward, And Quickly Nipped The Cube Out Of Jewel's Hand Before Jewel Could Even Touch Her.

[Three Hours Later]

After Three Hours Of Her Trying To Touch Tarry, Jewel Finally Gave Up, And Started To Walk Back Up To The Fence, But She Heard Heavy Breaths Following. Tarry Was Following Jewel, Jewel Slowly Stopped And Looked At Her, Tarry Then Looked Away And Acted Like She Was Walking Away. Jewel Smiled And Hopped The Fence.

[A Few Days Pass]

The Pass Few Days, It's Been Awaking Up In The Middle Of The Night, Feeding Her Sugar Cubes For Three Hours Each, And Having Her Follow Jewel Back To The Fence. This Kept Happening For A Long Time, But Jewel Was Finally Able To Touch, Groom, Lead And Play With Tarry As Long As A Sugar Cube Was Promised By At The End Of It.
Task 2:
After Gaining The Buckskins' Trust, Jewel Was Finally Able To Get A Vet Out To The Stables. Jewel Wanted To Make Sure She Wasn't Hurt From The Fall That She Did, And If She Had Swollen Ankles From Running. Jewel And Jack Had Tarry On A Double Lead For Safety While The Vet Check Tarry's Teeth, Ankles, Back And Underbelly.

[Three Hours Later]

The Vet Said "Tarry Is Health But Has A Minor Fracture In Her Front Right Ankle. She Is Able To Walk But Is In During Much Pain, I Will Come Back With Things To Wrap Her Foot, I Recommend Putting Her In A Stall. So She Can No Longer Make It Worse." Jewel Nodded, The Vet Soon Left And Jack Helped Jewel Will Putting Her In A Stall. That Didn't Go Very Well, Tarry Was Bucking All The Way Until She Was Fully In. But By That Time She Realized How Big Her New Space Was, It Was Better Than Before. Jack Went And Grabbed The Brush So Jewel Can Groom Her Clean To Calm Her. Tarry Slowly Nibbled On Jewel's Coat Pocket, Jewel Knew What She Wanted, And Stuck Her Hand In Her Pocket And Slowly Brought Out A Sugar Cube. Tarry Light Up, Jewel Gave Her One As She Began To Groom Her Coat.

[20-25 Minutes Pass]

Tarry Fell Asleep As Jewel Groomed Her, Her Coat Was Silky Smooth Now. While She Slept, The Vet Was About To Wrap Tarry's Hoof Up. Tarry Woke Up Soon After And Freaked Out When She Felt Something Heavy On Her Leg. She Tried Bucking It Off, Biting It And Everything But It Was On There Pretty Tight.

[Few Days Pass]

It Was Time To Take The Cast Off, And So Jewel And Jack Had Tarry On A Double Lead. The Vet Slowly Removed It, And Tarry Let Her As Jewel Gave Her A Sugar Cube. Once It Was Off, Tarry Started Pulling The Two Around She Wanted To Run. Jewel And Jack Slowly Walked Her Around, But Once Jack Released Her, Jewel Jumped On To Some Ones Back As She Ran. Jewel Was Riding Tarry As She Ran. Tarry Was So Happy To Be Free, She Was Moving Very Quickly, And Didn't Mind Jewel Being On Her.
Task 3:
After Two Tiring Weeks Of Gaining Trust, Treating Wounds, And Loosing Sugar Cubes, Tarry Is Finally Feeling Like She Is At Home Once More. Tarry, This Poor Filly, Wasn't So Good When She Was First Picked Up, But Now She Is Happy, Galloping Around In Her Pasture. Even Though We Are Still Trying To Get Her In Stalls Easier, She Will Get In If She Knows I'm In There. And Sugar Cubes, Lots And Lots Of Sugar Cubes. We Did Find Another Problem, She Does Take The Thunder Much To Kindly, We Tried Playing Classical Music One Time. But, That Only Calmed Down The Other Horses, Not Tarry, So What We Plan On Doing Is Giving Her A Pill That Makes Her A Bit Sleepy. So She Can Sleep The Storm Away, We Haven't Tried It Yet, Kind Of Scared To, But If It Helps, It Will Work. But Tarry Has Also Taken A Liking To Irish, She To Also Has A Grand Backstory. We Often See These Two Sleeping/Cuddling Or Racing Towards Rabbits.
