Why are they crying? -- She's crying because she just found out that her friends are holding a surprise party for her! She had been having a rough time, and thought that no one was there for her. She was wrong!

Why are they crying? -- Miki wrote a book (it took her 3 years because of how long it was), and tried to get it published. She just received her 9th rejection letter from a big name company. That alone was enough to upset her, with how long she spent on the book and not being appreciated. However, the 10th letter she received caused her to cry even harder. Her manuscript was accepted by a smaller company, and her tears of sadness from the 9th letter are mixed with tears of joy from the 10th.

The reason that Gabriella is crying is due to the fact that she just found out a new library had opened up in her town, and the tears are tears of joy. She had wanted to be a librarian since she was a child, and she may finally be able to apply and be close to home. A small dream to most, but nonetheless a dream come true for her. Being around so many books, the quiet, calming atmosphere, everything about it is wonderful!

Though Katey may look sad, she is actually quite content right now. Katey was born with Watering Eye, a condition which causes tear overflow. She does not hide her condition, nor does she feel like she should. She often smiles when "crying" so others know just how happy she is, crying or not.
