Favorite color and why:
Alma tends to lean towards warmer colors when asked about her favorite, but she can't quite choose between red, orange and yellow. She loves the colors of sunset and early sunrise, and the spirit that she feels comes from brighter colors. She's an optimist and often very happy, and those colors in particular resonate with her spirit.

Alma resided in the mountains in her childhood. She lived in a small wooden cottage resting on the side of a mountain. Every day since she was very young, she would go for a short walk in the morning and night to a special location where the foliage cleared and a large rock would extend outwards over a cliff. She'd climb the rock to the end, where she'd watch the sunrise and sunset.

One day, Alma tripped on one of her walks and hurt her back left paw. She had to wear a cast for a while, and couldn't walk to the spot she loved. She was sad, however – her mother gave her a painting set with all different colors, and it was then that she learned a new hobby. She mostly painted landscapes and the views she captured in her walks.

Orange reminds him of the sunset casting it's glow upon him and his siblings as they played in the fields together, running around and playing tag and laughing. It reminds him his late father, who's favorite color was also orange. The color reminds him of the color of his mother's hair, the way is cascaded down her back and how he use to love to braid it. It reminds him of his grandmother's nails, how she always wore different colors but orange looked the best on her. The stained glass of the churches he use to walk by to get to school, the orange shining the brightest to him. The color of the leaves as they changed colors in autumn, the way they crunched under his feet and how fun they were to jump into. The color of his best friend's house, where they hang out almost everyday. This color means so much to him and that is why orange will always be his favorite color.

Arco loved the color grey since he first saw it on a sweater in the mall. It was quiet, unassuming, and bland. Which is exactly what he was looking for. He loved the rainbow on his fur, the black markings, the arrow and everything else that made him him. But, that was what he was mostly known for. A rainbow. Color. Joy. There was nothing wrong with that, and he was grateful to have such a cheery outward appearance. But, he was tired of the weight that came with joyful colors and contrasting stark white. They all asked, "what's your favorite color? Do you like the rainbow? Is it hard to pick a favorite color since you look like a rainbow? Is it hard to find clothes that match you when you shop? Are you gay? Did you dye your fur?" Yes, they were innocent enough questions, and he could not fault people for their curiosity. But at the same time, when people expected you to be something else when you wanted to be yourself was very tiring. He loved being himself, loved to make people happy with his jokes. But grey let him be his quiet, unassuming, bland self.

If you had asked Luci what his favorite color is as a child he would've answered without hesitation - rainbow! Now that he's older, however, he tends to lean towards shades of blue; everything from the clear, energetic blue of a cloudless sky to the mysterious navy of the endless ocean. Blue is also a calming color, one of the virtues Luci prizes most, being an anxious kal.

To answer your question, red is my favorite color. Red is the lens from which I see the world. My eyes are red; some would say red is the color of my soul. It is how I interact with others, and it is how others interact with me. I see through crimson-colored glasses every step of my day, so it's only natural that I feel closest with it.

I adore the strength of red. It is a beginning, a newborn child, yet it is a leader, ready to lead the rainbow. Red is a strong leader, ready to command in a ruthless war. It is power and passion, and jealousy and rage. Red is a newborn baby, the beginning of a train of colorful events. It is the first color atop a rainbow, and makes an unbeatable mark on a viewer's eyes. It is purity and innocence, and it is youthfulness and energy.

Red is many things. It is whoever and whatever a person wants it to be; it is malleable and multi-faced. Red is many beings, but, to me, red is the world. It is the trees, it is the sky, and it is the color of my soul.
