To tryout for this bab I'm really looking for a relationship between them and whoever helped them with their deafness. You can borrow someone else's GG for the deaf part or make something up if you'd like. If you can partner with someone for #89 that's even better! Extras and prettying up are encouraged!

About Them Meet Baloo a very inquisitive and intuitive Goblin Gator. Baloo is one Goblin Gator who's a little rusty in their introductory skills. Why? Well it's a bit difficult to say hello if you can't exactly hear it. Baloo was born with hearing, but had a hearing impairment that led to their hearing not only deteriorating but at a very rapid rate. As a result Baloo can't hear, and struggles in learning and understanding how to communicate with others. However they are very intelligent if sensitive and have more or less improved in other ways such as speech, and eyesight. Clear and direct as they can be, they are able to speak without issue. Lip reading is easy for them but it's when vocalizations and vibrations in the air feel the same that they really need the help. Thankfully they have Ginger now, but back when they lived in a strict village named Skehmet, Baloo didn't have so much help as they had bodyguards. And, you know, lack of freedom. Due to their deafness being a handicap, they were always assigned a watcher who basically restricted Baloo from supporting themselves and working to do things for themselves so much to the point that the GG couldn't stand it anymore and so they ran away to the big city, desperate for freedom. One thing they never counted on was Ginger being sent after them.



Who's Ginger?: Ginger is Baloo's roommate and helper, despite Baloo detesting the idea of one after being oppressed by the ways of their shared village, Ginger has proven herself to be more than a guide to Baloo. It also is interesting to note that Ginger cannot speak English either and thus the two have a kind of trade system. Ginger helps Baloo to 'hear' and Baloo acts as a translator for Ginger to understand through a series of code via their elemental powers that allows them to communicate. Think Morse code, but with lights. This type of communication allows for Baloo to speak but there's a catch. It has to be during dusk to the night for them to get their message across clearly to eachother. This kind of relationship has helped the two of them not only bond but to understand and thus help one another. Wanting to keep their freedom together, they both are hiding out in the large city, experiencing things they've never done and trying to keep alert in case any authorities from Skehmet come for them.

Tourist Days
In the early days of your youth, back when your hearing had been far better than it would become, you remembered the city. It was always in the distance, always out of reach. Your mother would tell you "Baloo out there is danger" or you father would gruff "Too big a place for you." But still you watched it. When the council of the village had made their decision to house you away from your family as your hearing began to fade, the only thing that could placate your wild emotions and confusion was the view. It was far closer to the city and while it loomed overhead you couldn't help but think it was beautiful.

It's only now that you think your father was right. The city was too big for you or maybe you were just too small for it. The first day of your escape, and god what a day it was, you bought an old camera. Firstly because if was illegal to own a camera if your were young, but more importantly because you wanted to remember this. You were on your own for the first time ever and you wanted to indulge in it either before the council caught wind of your rebellious act. You wanted to revel in how good and scary it felt before they caught you again. So your first act of rebellion felt wonderful. You took a picture of yourself.


Afterwards you glanced around fearfully that you'd been caught but no one was around this time of the day. Your first order of business was simple. You would find a place to sleep for the night and then explore this gorgeous city for all it was worth.

Devan has been Claudia's best friend, and only friend, her entire life. Ever since she was born. Devan was just a young GG when she was born, but he remembers the day like it was yesterday.

Devan has been by her side everyday, ever since he found out that she was deaf. He has done all he can to help her, by walking right next to her, or ahead of her, to lookout for cars or others walking by. He would do most of the communicating for her, and try his best to teach her how to read and write, since that was, and is still, his passion.

Devan's parents didn't want him being with a GG who had a defect, since they thought if he somehow soon fell in love with her, that would bring shame to the family name. Devan thought that was ludicrous, and he didn't think he would ever fall in love with her. As Devan continued to take care of her, he started to realize that he was indeed, falling in love with Claudia.

Claudia was a happy go lucky kind of GG, who looked at everything in a positive way. She was always excited to learn new things, and found her own way with communicating with Devan, by not using sign language (but she still learned it to communicate with other GGs), but by using other forms of body movements, and having white boards where they could write things, if it was something super important that one of them had to say. Even though Claudia couldn't hear her voice, or Devan's, she still loved every minute they spent together, and she still loves it.

Devan is a very patient GG, who never rushes things, which is why him and Claudia get along so well. He has been teaching Claudia new things his entire life, and the only enjoyment he gets out of life now, is seeing Claudia smile. Whenever she smiles, Devan always smiles back. Soon, Devan had to run away from his family, since they soon found out that he in fact, was in love with Claudia, and that he wouldn't ever leave her side. Claudia's family and Devan have been friends ever since Devan was born, and they gladly took him in. Devan did all he could to help around the house, to keep himself living there.

Devan and Claudia went to school, but they both learned a lot of what they know from Claudia's parents, since her father was a writer, and her mother was a math teacher. They learned other subjects like history and science at the school, but those subjects weren't very interesting to both of them. After they were to old to go to school, and graduated high school (because even though they weren't there half the time, they still got excellent grades on projects, homework, and were there for every test and quiz), Claudia had to move out. Devan had vowed to go to where ever Claudia went.

They both soon moved into a run down apartment building at the edge of the city where they lived. Since Claudia was deaf, there weren't many jobs where she could work. Devan took two jobs, one as a fast food worker, and the other as a waiter at a rollerskating rink. Claudia hated the fact that she couldn't really help Devan pay the bills, so one day, she decided that she would get a job at the Prize Corner at the rollerskating rink.

Over the years, Claudia had learned to read lips. Devan agreed to help her get the job. It took a lot of convincing and proving to let her get the job, but eventually, she got it, and now continues to work there as one of the best employees. Because of her job at the roller rink, Devan was able to quit his job at the fast food place, and work at the roller rink with Claudia. They're both full time jobs, but they're able to pay the bills just fine.

Now, Devan has yet to propose to Claudia, but they are now dating, and Devan has been hard at work with writing something super special for her, but has yet to come up with something perfect. He still uses most of his time to guide Claudia around town, and help her with her job at the prize Corner, and Claudia is more than grateful for all his help. She just wishes that he'll propose soon, since she has loved him ever since she could remember.
