Devon blinked and stared at Boris's shoulder. Boris saw the gears turn in Dev's head, and he started to panic, knowing what would come next.
Devon reached out his right hand to touch Boris's shoulder. "What hap-"
"Uhhh so what's the whole deal with this part of the room!?" Boris said quickly.
Dev blinked. "Oh. Um, it's a little something I invented. I haven't worked out a name for it yet, but basically it removes light from the area you place it in, sort of like the opposite of a lightbulb." he was still staring at the clawed-man's shoulder, but understood that he didn't feel like talking. Still though, he felt curious. "The Council didn't like my invention. They said it was stupid." he shrugged. "I guess that's why they made me sponsor you."
Boris laughed. "Honestly, back where I'm from, everyone would love to have this."
Devon smiled before shrinking back into the darkness, returning with a roll of bandages. He covered his wound and threw the rest of the bandages back.
"You... hungry?" Dev asked.
Boris grinned toothily. "Starving."
