▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ "Why am I worried?
W-why?"
~
Percival had been nervously munching on his minuscule lunch, when he first noticed the change in his most frequent tormentor. When Xylon's usual gang of miscreants began picking on a younger vaiki, at a lunch table not far away, Percival was surprised to see that a certain dark-colored vaiki's familiar sneering visage was no where in sight. Frowning, the vanilla vaiki scolded himself for the small pinch of worry he felt for the rebel. Deciding to ignore the feeling, and to focus on the fact he was free to eat his lunch with out interruption, he found that his mind had different ideas. Percival thought back to all of the odd behavior his tormentor had exhibited that week. That school year even! Xylon was noticeably skinnier then the year before. Though, this week. Something was certainly off this week, Percival could feel it, but hadn't yet been able to put his claw on what it was. Despite his new-found leanness, Xylon had continued to tease the young vaiki like nothing at all had changed. Not this week though, this week Xylon had done nothing but the occasional sneer or glare in his direction. He had stuck to the back of his posse, and hadn't even been his usual rude self towards their teachers. Xylon had been... quiet...and...civil even. Percival couldn't believe his own thoughts. The idea of a quiet, civil Xylon seemed completely wrong, it was just not...him.
The lunch bell snapped the vaiki out of his thoughts, and in a flash Percival had all his belongings collected. Standing up, the shy vaiki started down the hallway towards his locker, trying vainly to get Xylon out of his head. Classes passed quickly, and before he knew it, Percival was stepping swiftly towards the backdoor of the middle school. He'd discovered this little known exit of the large school, and used it often to evade the group of ruffians, whose favorite pass time, the whole school knew, was to bother Percival. He'd lingered at his locker a bit longer then usual, and by now, most of the students had vacated the building. Arriving faster then expected, Percival pushed hard on the exit door. Sighing deeply, he stepped out into the cool autumn air, his ear flicking at the loud squeak of the old and unused door. His relaxation was short-lived, however, when there was a slight shuffling sound from behind the school dumpsters. Immediately on high alert, Percival cautiously took a step towards the sound. His trained ears picked up a sharp intake of breath...and was that a sniffle? Immediately ruling out some kind of of twisted prank,
Percival's caring instincts kicked in as fast as his caution had, as the young vaiki shot forward toward the dumpster. Rounding the corner, Percival gaped at the sight before him. Whatever he had been expecting, perhaps that kid from lunch, or another tormented soul, he had not been expecting this. Thoughts of that 'twisted prank' came flashing back into his mind as alarms rang in his mind. Crouched before him, tears streaked down his dark cheeks, was none other than Xylon Yexe. The dark-furred vaiki jerked his head upwards at the intruder, his bloodshot eyes widening as he took in the sight of the one vaiki he probably never, ever, wanted to see him like this. Percival opened his month to speak, but the words stopped dead in his throat, his mouth suddenly dry, and his heart practically ramming itself against his rib cage.
Xylon lurched to his feet, as frantically as if the ground was on fire. His signature glare marred his dark features, but...it wasn't right. Percival had seen that glare enough times to see the difference. There was no hatred, well, maybe a little bit, but whatever anger that was there? It was being overshadowed by the all encompassing despair in his eyes. The navy-furred vaiki's face was carefully blank, hardened, and in a calm, slightly threatening voice, Xylon spoke what could achieve nothing but isolation for himself. A silent plead to be alone underlining the calm words, as he began to briskly rush away from his rival.
Percival's mind was working a mile a minute, trying to work out what was happening through the mush of worry that was his dulling his senses. When Xylon spat out the calm words, and flipped around to walk away, the cream colored vaiki didn't know what to do. He had no clue at all. So he did what his first instinct was telling him to do.
He rushed forward to the retreating vaiki, and grabbed his paw, before whispering a sincere question to the dark vaiki. The words seemed to have knocked the tormentor out of his stupor. Xylon flinched, and sharply yanked his paw from the worrier's grip. A scowl contorted his features as he turned on the kind-hearted male. Percy flinched at the swift movement, but pressed on despite the scowl. There was a stuttered question from the cream vaiki, worry clear on his face. Xylon cut off the end of his question with a sharp whip of his tail, which had floofed up in a sad attempt to be intimidating. Xylon narrowed his eyes and barked cruel words at the 'angel'. As he continued to speak, his words became more frantic and heated. Percival persisted, despite his better judgement, and just about every cell in his body that screamed to flee. Xylon's face went dark, and oh! there's the hatred in his eyes. The dark-furred vaiki growled out several insulting comments. One in particular left the tan vaiki's mind whirring. Percy felt anger rise up in his mind, but pushed it down, and reached out his paw once again, repeating his question. The red gaze of the other fell upon the outstretched hand, and instantly there was a sneer forming on his face. Xylon released a frustrated growl, kicking his leg out viciously at a nearby trashcan. He really hadn't been expecting for that same trashcan to fly through the air, and nearly take out Percival's head. Percy looked up at Xylon, hurt written clearly across his face. Overwhelmed, Xylon met Percival's eyes, and with the slightest apologetic look, the navy vaiki bolted.
Left sitting behind the school dumpsters, a beaten aluminum trashcan at his feet, Percy stared at the spot his tormentor had stood not a moment before. Slowly, the cream vaiki pulled back his outstretched paw, staring at it distantly. Feeling disoriented, Percy trudged back home in what could only be described as a daze. As soon as he was back in his room, closing the door behind him, Percy could feel his emotions breaking down the floodgates of his mind. Tears silently streaming down his pale cheeks, Percy couldn't help, even in his own misery, but to worry more about the welfare of a certain red-eyed rebel, more then his own.

When Percival was first born into the world, he was thrust into the hands of another Vaiki. Unwanted and left alone, his biological parents went and left him at an adoption home. Leaving him in the care of the caretaker as he awaited adoption in a foster home. He never knew his parents, as his eyes weren't even opened yet, but Percy still cared his kind and calm manner with him throughout all the foster homes he came to. Over the years, Percival was adopted outand returned, mostly because of the foster parents unavailability during the day, either there was not enough time to watch him, or as they were too busy to watch over him. Returning him back to the adoption home, Perc began to develop insecurity and his nervous trait from being left there alone, even though his caretaker was kind and loving to him, alongside with all the other kids in his environment, though the tanned Vaiki still grew weary and scared with each passing day of being abandoned once more. But this time, all by himself with no one around. There were a few adoptions here and there from different couples that wanted a child, though they only adopted him out of sympathy, though they knew they couldn't take care of him, and usually left him out in public places, such as a park or another public location, where he made his way back to another adult, asking them to bring him back 'home', as the adoption home was what he called it. He was bounced back and forth from foster home to foster home. From a working house where he was forced to work alongside the parents, to a calm, quiet home, where all he did was stay coped up in his large room, engulfing him in nervousness and insecurity each time he saw his 'parents'. After residing at the adoption home once more, he was soon adopted by a single female Vaiki. She was a kind old woman, at least somewhere in her early thirties as she went to the adoption home one day. Stopping by to peer in curiously to pick up a child when the small tanned child caught her eye. Immediately gushing at his sweet and kind personality, she went to sign up the paper, signing down on the contract that she was now he 'Legal Guardian'. Bringing him home, Percival was greeted with warmth and kindness as he entered her small home, a cozy one story house with 4 rooms, which one of them would soon turn into a play room for the small child. For the next three years, Percival was in good hands, the older Vaiki took great care of him, as she worked an easy job as a florist, working a few hours a day and returning at night to spend time with her 'child'. Percy wasn't all that spoiled, as she couldn't afford that much, but he loved the life he lived there. He was played with, feed well, and amused each and everyday. He also received a good education at a public school near the house too. Though he lived a good life there, it didn't mean that he wasn't worried each and everyday. Percy had his doubts, whether or not he was going to stay here forever, or what will happen if they ran out of money, or even just small things that would happen that would 'tear them apart'. Though his worries may did seem silly at the moment. There was one thing that tore them apart. Forever...
One fateful day, it was a rather icy one. Percival had resided down at the base of a frozen tree, nose buried in one of his favorite books while peacefully sitting near the frozen neighborhood lake, not realizing that someone was nearing closer and closer to him.- read Xy's part to understand this part- Standing on one of the high branches of the frozen trees, he grabbed hold of the cold rope in his paws, palms sweating and knees weak, Percival gulped nervously, preparing for the jump onto the icy lake that stood before him. a few words of mockery drifted from the Vaikis below, a smirk present on their faces as they watch the dusty male coward away from the challenge. Sending a hot glare down to the shivering group down below, Percy swallowed roughly once more, gripping on harder to the rope, he exhaled deeply, squeezing his eyes shut as he ran forwards, hopping off of the branch before swinging in the frosty air, wind blowing through his warm pelt, freezing him to his core as small snow drops flung at him through the air. Time seemed to slow down as Percy neared the ice further and further, letting his eyes open softly as he let go of the rope, flying down towards the ice as he crashed through, time speeding up once more after a split second. Water sudden rushed up to his nostrils, flooding into his mouth as he helplessly clawed at the hard ice which trapped him down underneath the cold water as his lungs screamed for more air. It felt like he had been down there for a million years for at least 5 seconds as he flailed around. Surely, the other students had already fled away, laughing and snickering. Is this how I will die?...
His flailing movements ceased, reduced to a small twitch every which way from his arms and legs. a large crashing sound echoed from a few centimeters away, bubbling surrounding him in a flurry of movement as they tried to get back up to the surface also. A hard tug suddenly pulled him upwards towards the surface, his body no longer moving as he gave up overall. A scratching sound was heard from above, as it seems like claws against ice. Suddenly his head popped up from the icy cold water, air rushing back to his tired lungs as they grateful inhaled and exhaled large amounts of the generous gas. With eyes still closed, he couldn't make out the shape of his savior, only seeing a dark pelt dragging him back onto the land. His savior dragged him roughly over to land, both of their pelts damp, and drying quickly due to the cool atmosphere and the snow falling quickly upon them. A fast force threw him forwards, sliding him back over to the same tree he sat over earlier, but this time, he lay flat on his side, shivering and his conscious still in grasp as the dark pelted Vaiki rushed away, the crunching of their paws silencing with each step away. A few minutes pasted by, the dusty Vaiki shivering once more as he tried to sit up, but no avail as his consciousness almost slipped away. A sudden rush of paw steps sounded suddenly, panic fleeting with each step as someone neared him. A small, fleece blanket was draped upon him as voices sounded around him. Two of them. Percival weakly peered out at them, seeing one of the Vaikis were a bright blue, and the other a darker color.
Is that him?...
The one that saved me?...
A few moments later before he could even process anything else. Percival had blacked out.

Not to mention t-that he seems to have caused many of my fears...One time, he almost got me killed! It was about...three years ago now? I don't remember much, I think I blacked out, but he dared me to go to the middle of the frozen lake. I-it was stupid...but I was like nine okay? Then his...pft...'friends' said there was no way I could do it. I needed to prove them wrong, maybe then they'd leave me alone! So I went across the ice and it cracked. I-I fell i-in the w-water. What did those cowards do?! They ran away! They left me for dead, and that's Xylon included. I saw him run, right before I fell below the surface. I-I don't really remember what happened after I went under. It's all a blur...but I know someone saved me, I don't have images, but I remember the feeling of the jaw clenched down on the scruff of my neck, through the i-intense icy cold of the w-water. I think it was Xavier...or Meena? Either way, next thing I know, I'm shivering on shore, and that was the first time I met my adopted gaurdians. I guess I owe him that, I might be floating around foster homes still, if it weren't for that accident. Yeah though, not gonna tell the jerk that. Thanks a ton Xylon.
Meena Chosovi wrote:My adopted guardian. She is like my mother and my older sister, though mostly the latter. She's really nice! I'm so grateful that she and Xavier took me in! Sometimes she can be a bit neurotic and obsessive, but that's okay, everyone has their quirks. Of my two guardians, she is the most like a parental figure to me. I'd just wish she'd understand my problem with Xylon, she always gets this little gleam in her eye whenever I bring it up. It's...a little...freaky, so I avoid the topic around her.
Xavier wrote:He's kind of a jerk.
Nonono I mean..u-uh..he just..A nice jerk! Yes! He has a bit of contradiction about him, and always seems to be glaring up at the sky. [what's with that Xavier???] He's my other adopted guardian, but he's like my big brother, and I do appreciate him taking me in with Meena. He is a lot more helpful about my rants, and he actually has a lot of pretty good advice. I really don't understand what's up with all these adults though, why are they so weird?
Mitha wrote:If I had a best friend, It would probably be her! She is very sweet and we get along really well. Her obsession with mints is a bit odd, but that's okay. She is very friendly and always lets me talk to her. Xylon's mean to her too, so we both agree on that, at least. Sometimes she acts a little strange around me.
Hibiki wrote:Hibiki is pretty nice to me,I-I guess, now at least. Wasn't always that way. It's a bit weird, since he is so friendly with X-Xylon. He used to prank me a lot, but one day, he just stopped! He's pretty nice, and really funny. He seems to have an obsession with making me laugh, but that's definitely a step up from Xylon's obsession with making me feel like dirt. I wouldn't trust Hibiki with my thoughts, but I think he's starting to become my friend. It's a plus that Xylon always seems annoyed when we hang out, heh.

Percival is a shy and quiet Vaiki.
You would expect this behavior coming from a female version of this tanned male,
but genders really don't matter in this situation. Personalities vary from different
people, and this case, Percy's is a more quiet and pleasant one. This tanned Vaiki
can be very bashful and quiet at the first glance, seeming kind and submissive before,
and when you finally meet the male, you find out that his overall interior is still quite
similar. Seeming always nervous, Percival can be easily flustered, either from anger
or embarrassment, most things could make him flustered. Aside from that, the Vaiki
is also easily frightened, either from a loud noise, or just from someone jumping out
from the end of a dark hallway. Percival is known to take things to heart easily, and
gets his feelings hurt easily to do it. Either if it's just a joke, or just a small complement,
Percy would take it personally and would either start shedding tears of joy or pain,
depending on the type of complement or tease spoken. Usually it takes a bit more
for the Vaiki to start spewing tears if it's by the hands of an insult, but it doesn't
take much for him to start bawling tears of happiness whenever someone says
something incredibly kind. Percival is usually optimistic about most things,
seeing the cup as half full as he tries to make the most of each day, being
joyful and delighted from the time he woke to the time he rested for the night.
Percy is very enthusiastic about history and mythology. He loves all kinds of stories.
When you get him talking about a topic he enjoys, he can be so passionate that
others find it inspiring. Percival loves traveling and learning new things.
Over the years, Percival turned more, mature... Not being so hyper and bashful
in large crowds, though he does have his moments where he just shies away from
people. Percival's attitude did change when he grew older, turning more sarcastic
and defensive instead of his usual fabulous self, most likely as he was sick of being
a door mat, always having people step over him to get what they wanted, but now.
He's a changed Vaiki, more snappish and usually prepared with a few witty comebacks,
he can somewhat defend himself from the oppressors at the school. Though he isn't
always up and defensive. He still has a soft side for students that are being bullied or
are going through a rough time at home or something. Percival is incredibly friendly,
usually sympathizing with the ones who are going through bad times as he just sits
down and lets them rant or spew while he just quietly sits and listens fully, some
times offering his words here and there. Though his exterior may have changed
roughly over the years, despite standing up for himself, he still has his doubts in
his abilities to ward off the bullies. Especially from Him...
Though the two still clash together sometimes, they do have their civil moments
where they would quietly pass each other in the hallway, but those are rare
occurrences, as they still bicker from time to time.
