Hello there! I am balto.,
a fellow member of the sima community,
although not yet very active on the fan
club. I currently own five of my own simas -
Caeleah,
Aubrey,
Horangi,
Arabesque and
Broderick (top boy), and I love them all and would love
to add another sima to my little group, and
add them to my large group of active
characters (although more so in traditional art),
and I dunno, they would contribute to help me
get more active in the community - even if it
wouldn't be as much as I would want, at least
it's something. But if I were to win this lovely
sima, I would care for him, no doubt about
it, as I love all my characters.
Anyway, enough rambling, let's move onto
the form!

I have decided, that for my form this sima will be named Calder-Aberforth - both of those names are water related, Calder meaning 'stream' and Aberforth meaning 'from the river'. I decided to put these two together, as it would not only go with the history I have in store, but it also seemed to suit them, being shark related and all. You can use both of those names as shorter nicknames, but they can also go by Caldy and Four. Caldy's biological gender is male, but they right now go by Agender, and have decided they/them pronouns, as well as their biological pronouns. They are at young adult age it seems, Slough even to them it is unknown, as they never knew anything about birthdays or the sort as a young sima, and have only be introduced to it - this means their birthday is also unknown, but they say they are born in summer.

Calder is a very observing sima - they are always making sure that they know of their surroundings, and that they are safe and cannot be harmed, and that there is nothing that can harm them. Or they observe other simas - their daily lives and how they go about them. They usually try to make it so that you don't know if they are watching or not. It interests them, how simas that don't live in a tribe survive, and they tend to adapt to what they have seen, which helps them get more used to their life how it is now. They are usually pretty silent, and the average sima might find it a bit strange if they quietly watch them - especially if they don't know them, but one or two of their friends can describe it as normal for them.
This sima can also be a bit alert of his surroundings, especially if he hasn't been around that place much. You never know when something might jump out at you, and that seems to be stuck in the males mind, no matter how much he is told that it is safe. He has to inspect the place himself to make sure that it is alright. It isn't that he is jumpy and afraid, but he would like to be ready if anything were every to jump out and attack, he wouldn't want to give his enemy the advantage of catching him off-guard. If anything, he would like to be ready so he could prove himself, so that he could prove that he wouldn't always need help when he might be in trouble, that he is strong enough to deal with his own problems.
Now, it may be hard for Calder-Aberforth to make friends, but when he does, and when he trusts you, you are considered a good friend to him and he will want to make sure you never get hurt - even if he knows that you might be able to take care of yourself, he will not give up and will always be there to defend you. He does not want to see his friends hurt, and he wants to actually have friends, like he had back in the tribe. But maybe he can become a bit too protective - not that he means to do it on purpose really, but he doesn't want his friends to get hurt, like he did when he was in the tribe - maybe it was selfish of him, but he doesn't regret it. Not one moment would he want to go back and change it, and it will be the same with his friends now.
If you aren't really Calder's friend, and if he has never spoken to you before, he wont be nice or anything. He may be a bit harsh when he talks - if he does. It takes a lot for him to trust someone, especially after the events that happened in his life. He does not want to come to terms with trusting others too quickly. While he does eventually come to trust other simas as he gets to know them and such, it does not always happen, and he will usually judge on first appearance rather than get to know the sima first, resulting in him not trusting many others. Sometimes he doesn't like that he is like this, but other times he doesn't really care. But once he gets to know you, and know you are good, he can be a loyal friend.
Now, along with being very untrusting of new and unknown simas, Calder is also very quiet when they around, especially if it is first glance and they try to converse with him. He is more of a listener then a talker, and even then he doesn't really listen that much to others unless he knows them really well. He would rather not listen to strangers and just observe, or sit there in silence, not be around with annoying simas who try to ask him question after question. Of course, he will speak up if you manage to annoy him enough - although that does usually take a while, as he is not so easily angered. He will also speak up if there is something he believes is right, and the others are ignoring this.
When Calder does get to know you, it isn't so bad, and he doesn't seem to be as bad as you might've originally thought, but it isn't all fun and games. If you want him to do something - he will not do it. Even if it is something simple, he will not do it. He does not like top do things for others, unless you are a really good friend or when he offers - which is only exclusive to his very close friends. But you should never try to order this guy around, he does not like it and will not take too kindly to it. If anything, his friendship with you, if there was any, will decrease, and you will have to make it up to him somehow for him to get to not dislike you again - but how you do that is currently unknown.

Where does this sima live? Well, he lives nowhere, really. Calder explores around a lot, and therefor does not want, nor need, to stay in the same place for too long. They live everywhere, or nowhere, and will never really stop, not even to settle down. But when he does stop, he tends to try and be near water, and a beach, as it calms him and lulls him into sleep and good dreams, he can't sleep unless the sound of water colliding with the beach, and the smell of tangy salt water, surrounds him.
Sure, when he does take a rest from traveling, he has this one place that he will go to - it is a small cabin, well hidden from the sight and knowledge of others. It has all he needs for a few nights - a bed, a small kitchen-like room, and usually a store of food, in case he doesn't have any left over from his trips. This was his first, and only home, so to say. He found it right after he arrived on land after being banished, and after there was already a food source there, he did stay for a few days, claiming it as his by the end. Before his journeys, he did fix and cover it up, so no one else would come along by mistake and find this place, the one place he claims as his own.

Calder-Aberforth was born far, far away from where he is now, far away from where others lived, on a small, long forgotten island in a large tribe of simas. He does not remember the name, and chooses not to. But as he was born into this tribe, he was praised like a god, for he resembled a shark, and due to rituals the tribe had, they worshipped the shark and all living sea creatures, so when he was born, it was a miracle for the tribe, for they expected great things to come of him, the first sima to be born in years, they took this as the start of something new, a new era.
Calder grew up fine, having friends born soon after him who all liked him - they would always play and there was never a trouble in the world. Until their 6th year of age came - it was time for the first ritual to take place, for they had to sacrifice two of the young ones to the ocean, to prevent their ocean from being run over by the sea, or so they thought.
The children were all scared, and even though Calder knew it wouldn't be him to be chosen, his friends were in danger, and so he came up with a plan - that they deal with this so called ritual themselves, and find out who, or what takes the offerings that are taken.
So the group went out to sea, further out then they had intended, and did in fact meet what they had been looking for, but for disobeying the tribe, and not listening to the warnings, all but one sima were taken as offerings - all but Calder. The great beast told him that this was so he would learn, and understand what he did wrong. Scared, the little sima swam back in fear, flailing, and once he was close enough to be seen, his mother swam out to him and got him, worried for her sons health. When he was on land, and was being seen by the healer, the tribe leader came to him and asked about the others, and not able to keep it in, he told the leader what had happened, and the mistake he had made with coming up with the idea.
The leader was outraged, to say the very least, and as soon as he was healed from his trauma, he was banished from the tribe for all his life, no one could look at him now, not even his own two parents, who had seemed to love him so much. He was chased out, forced to swim across the ocean, they had hopes of him being taken by the large beast while they sent their rituals, hoping to get the others back, although neither of those happened. Calder found land, and his friends were never seen again from the tribe - even now, he is unsure of the tribe and how it is, if it is still standing or not.
When he was sure that his surroundings were different, he had a little explore, despite being broken from his banishment. He was unsure if where he was, and was very wary by all the water and sand - he had washed up onto a beach, that seemed abandoned for now, and so he fell asleep, somewhat calmed by the roaring water of the ocean. Of course, it didn't stay like that for long, as he was woken at the first sigh on dawn by another sima holding a plank of wood? The sima demanded what he was doing asleep, and Calder, frightened, got up and scurried away, not looking back as the older sima called after him.
That is how Calder has lived his life, scavenging for food when he can and going from place to place, doing his best to avoid others, although he did make a few friends here and there that helped him, but he never stayed for too long. Not for when he was sure a certain beast was watching his every move, waiting for him to make a mistake once more.

Caeleah - friend - 7/10 - owned by me
Now, Calder has known Caeleah since he arrived. She was the first sima he had met, crashing into her a few days after getting on land. She may be a bit grumpy, but she was nice once she saw how scared he was, and offered him food and a friend. They can quarrel sometimes, but often they just talk to each other like they have been friends longer then they actually have. He's extremely protective of her as a friend, and in turn, she shows him how fun everything is when they can get together, and shows him the true daredevil life. Of course, they don't always see each other, due to the fact he travels, but when they do, it becomes some of the best memories.
Horangi - acquaintance - 5/10 - owned by me
Now, Calder and Horangi were only recently introduced to, through Caeleah as the two of them are mates, and he finally had time to come along. In the few times they have seen and spoken to each other, Calder finds his company enjoyable. They don't have too much in common, but something just seemed to...click. Even like that, he doesn't yet consider him a friend, but right now he is even surprised at himself at how much he has gotten along with the other sima. Horangi is also the one who gave him the nickname of Caldy.
Aubrey - enemy - 2/10 - owned by me
Not really much to say. He met her through Caeleah as well, and hates her. Its a hate/hate relationship, as she dislikes him too, and when they see each other it is like constant war. He will never get to like her, not even a tiny bit.
Arabesque - friend - 7/10 - owned by me
He feels the opposite to Aubrey's daughter, Arabesque. He has only spoken to her once or twice, but likes her for company. She is rather shy, but friendly, so he can find and bare to be around her a fair bit. He hopes to some day spend more time with her - while they do keep contact through letters, once she finishes school he knows that she'll be able to visit more, and they'll be able to talk more. He can't wait for that.
Broderick - acquaintance - 4/10 - owned by me
Calder has only spoken to them once, but since they identify as the same gender - agender, they unexpectedly hit it off. Even with Broderick being rather bitter to most, they somehow are able to speak on good terms, but just like Arabesque, they don't get to speak often. Even then, he doesn't consider the kit a friend as they don't share much more then their gender in common.
