The wind blew slightly at our feet.
I didn't much, well,
care for his presence. He
was older than I, being the youth I was I simply
told myself I could do anything, yes,
anything on my own.
When the words came from my mouth, I never did expect him
to part paths, but I simply acted as though emotion
hadn't struck me, and headed south through the woods.
Knowing none of what lie ahead I grew a tad skittish, as it has
been my nature ever since I was 2 in fact.
A shadow there, I jumped. A crow let out a caw, I hid behind
a marsh-berry bush. Looking back I must have looked
a bit silly to anyone who was there, of course, that
was the good thing. No one was there.
Continuing on through the forest, I finally, after what
felt like days,
though it was a measly two hours, I had
arrived at a large town.
I read the population sign beneath the town's name:
Entrance sign wrote:Corvus Square:
Population: 25,213 0
I thought nothing of the crossed out numbers, too exhausted
to really process much of anything. I headed through the
square, looking at all the buildings. They were all run down, all collapsed,
all
abandoned. But, then I stumbled upon it.
It was a large hotel, about the size of your average day
apartment complex. It looked untouched by weather, untouched
by age. My greedy heart made me smile, instead of feeling
the unnerving, gut wrenching feeling I should have felt.
I only desired my needs, blocking out the unnaturalness of the
hotel.
Upon entering the establishment, a golden light filled the air. I felt a bit
awkward as I laid my pack on the floor, as soft elevator music started to play.
It to me a minute or so to realize the honey like thickness of the air, or
even the man behind the counter.
Once he turned to
'greet' me, the wrenching feeling finally
struck me. He was the man I had been traveling with, but he looked
disheveled, bone like,
dead.I gasped and my world went black.

Alucard's eye's snapped open and he screamed, bolting into
a sitting position. He glanced around, across the tent in a sleeping
bag lay the man. He was breathing, he was intact, he was alive.
Letting out a sigh, Alucard laid back down against his sleeping bag.
He then laid there for a good 5 to 10 minutes before finally falling asleep,
not noticing the dark shadow like substance taking form of himself
in the corner of the tent.
It laughed slightly.
