He looked up at the stars, eyes glittering with tears. He smiles slightly and then closes his eyes, a memory playing behind his closed lids. At his paws lays a glittering telescope as fireflies swarm around him

“Chrome!” His fathered called. Chrome looks over, smiling happily as his mismatched eyes catch sight of a glittering gold telescope. Chrome trots over, tail swishing happily. He smiles as his eyes brighten. His father grins. “You ready to see your first stars up close?” His father asks.
Chrome nods. “Yes!” The young Plumerian chirps. He looks around. They are on top of a hill, fireflies darting around, like there are stars. Trees scattered about. A peaceful vibe to everything. Chrome sits down in front of the telescope and presses his eyes to the eye piece. He gaps. He never expected to see something so beautiful. Before him lay a map of stars. Chrome pulls away. “Dad!” he gasps.
His father laughs and smiles. “What did you see?” he asks.
Chrome just stares at his father. “So many. There are so many. All the stars. Beautiful! They are just beautiful!” Chrome explains, lost for words as his young mind just holds onto the image of those millions of stars. He looks at the fireflies. These glowing little bugs remind him of the stars. He perks his ears up as one lands on his head. He shakes his head and gasps. His father laughs again. Chrome returns his attention to the telescope. Chrome smiles and peers back through the telascrope. He wags his tail as he studies the stares, trying to count them all, yet he knows that there are many more that he can’t see. He smiles happily.
“Hey buddy, wanna make shapes out of the stars?” His father asks, causing Chrome to pull away from the telescope and look at him. Chrome blinks, taking a moment to process the words. He smiles. “Yes!” he says. His dad smiles and pulls away. Chrome lays down on his back and lets his dad point out the different shapes. It takes a chrome a bit to catch on, but soon he is pointing out random shapes he came up. He giggles to himself, realizing how silly he is being. He smiles happily, watching the stars, moon, and the fireflies that float above him. The grass tickles his skin as he closes his eyes and just enjoys this rare moment with his father. Chrome sits up, looking at his father.
“Can we do this more? I really enjoy watching the stars with you!” He says. His dad blinks in shock. He smiles and nods.
“Of course,” his father says. Chrime smiles happily and prances back to the telescope. He peers in, only to gasp. A shooting star. He pulls away quickly.
“Dad! Dad! I just saw a shooting star!” Chrome gasps. His dad looks up, following where Chrome is pointing.
“Hurry, make a wish,” he says.
Chrome closes his eyes. He smiles as he thinks about his wish. He opens his eyes when done. He looks at the sky, watching the falling star disappear. Chrome looks at his father and smiles happily. “Did you make your wish?” He asks.
Chrome nods happily and looks up. “Yup I did! Just in time!” He says with a giggle. His father ruffles his hair and grins. Chrome looks at the stars, then the fireflies. He wants to keep one, to remind him of this day forever and ever. He does just that. Chrome catches two fireflies to hold onto to remind of this special day forever. He smiles happily.
