What is a Aersto?
An Aersto is a fox-dragon hybrid. Their bodies are short and stocky, will long bits of fur to keep
them warm on their travels. All Aerstos have a small, squishy star at the base of their tail. Though
the texture is soft it can also withstand most things. The star acts as an energy source and a place
of storage. The more comets the Aer has collected the brighter their star will be. In some cases a
star can be black, but it is highly unlikely and usually is the result of dark magic. Aers with dark
stars are often subject to dark magic and are creatures to be cautious of. Aerstos are not born with
their star necklace, but rather earn it once the Aer has turned three. It's a right of passage and also
signifies that the Aersto is of age to leave their home planet and scour the universe for comets and
things of that nature. Although they do not have wings, they can fly. It's part of their magical prop-
erties. Once the Aer has reached the age of passage they are also granted one power. It is the only
power it will possess that is unique and unlike most others. Other Aerstos may have the same power,
but not everyone will have the same one power. These powers are granted by Faeum, Goddess of
magic within the realm in which Aerstos live. Powers are often determined by characteristics of the
Aersto prior to their passage ceremony. They're busy bees most of the time but they do have to eat
to survive. Their diets consist of fruits, vegetables, as well as various other herbs. They can also feed
on smaller birds and rodents if necessary, but often prefer plant based diets. Aerstos are the size of a
Fennec Fox when full grown. Babies (up until age three) are usually the size of a hedgehog adolescent.
They are very social creatures, but often take fear in things that are bigger than they are. Wolves,
elephants, humans too. They're often found lingering around Earth though, surprisingly. They normally
don't stay long, unless someone happens to capture their heart enough to make them stay.
