He loves books and libraries and museums, he'd much rather have his nose buried in an adventure than doing "Lord"-ly things (which he finds utterly boring at the best of times). He has his own submersible that he uses to travel around the world having amazing adventures and meeting new and interesting Mercats from other tanks. He'd take an airship but it's a tad windy up that high. He's a bit near-sighted, hence the monacle. And he was injured on one of his past adventures, which is why he needs the "stylish yet functional" cane (which he does admit makes him look quite dapper). The top hat is just for fun
He does wish he had a handsome waistcoat tho, to top off his outfit in the best way possible.
