The true desires of a Being

The pink Plumerian jumped into the water, still breathing even though she was meant to breath air. Bubbles surrounded her as she grew fins, gills, and scales, covering the water at a huge distance, getting faster and shrinking as she went. She was a fish, and she had been all along. Flipping her fins happily, she wondered, how did she not know this already? The water became thicker and her heart started to ache. What was happening now? Maybe it was the shock of the realization that she was a fish, or that feeling in the pit of her stomach from before, when he had hit her tail on a rock. Or maybe...

She jumped out of the water, gasping for air. Silly Shaniah. I am not a fish. I am a plumerian, and have been all along. Why do you have to be so stupid?

Later that day, the pink plumerian picked a fight with a wolf. She pounced, growling, teeth growing longer as she bit into it's fur. The wolf yowled out in pain, shaking her off, but she quickly bit him again, this time on the tail, as her fur grew gray and wiry. She was winning this fight, so far, victory getting closer every second, her body becoming larger as she turned into a wolf. She was going to win, she was going to live, she was going to get to tell her pack that she had gotten into her first fight. Yes, she was a wolf, and she always had been. Then she felt a sickening blow to the stomach. Was she embarrassed that this was her only fight she had? Or maybe...

Her eyes widened in shock and she bolted away before the wolf, who had thrown her down onto a rock, could bite her neck. Silly Shaniah. I am not a wolf. I am a plumerian, and have been all along. Why do you have to be so stupid?

The next day, when she had found her way back home, she was nearly smothered by hugs. Her family rushed towards her, crying. "Where have you been?" Was called out many times, and though she knew, she would never tell. Unless they could guess the word she was thinking of. It was, 'fish'. Many words were guessed before she decided she would give a hint. "It starts with an f and has four letters." "Oh, you wouldn't!" Her mother cried out. "You know I told you never to even think of saying a bad word, you-" "Mother! That's not the word...." But by then she had figured she had said to much already, and alas, her father guess the word. "Now where have you been?" She sighed, then told them the whole story.

"Silly Shaniah! You are a plumerian, and always have been. Why do you have to be so stupid?"
"I'm not stupid, I just have dreams."
