What's a salmon dog?

A salmon dog is a dog about the same size as a shiba inu with a salmon tail and a salmon on its head. They are excellent swimmers,
and their salmon never leaves their body unless they are in the water. The salmon on their head and the salmon dog's tail always
match, and if either one gets hurt or dies, the other does, too. Salmon dogs cannot survive for more than an hour on land. They
are carnivores and feed on small invertebrates, fish, and squid.

I never do dark designs, so I'm giving it a try. ;v; This guy never seems to learn; he's got fishing line caught in his fins and around his paw, as well as a hook in his tongue!

For this contest, impress me with a story/piece of art! No more than 500 words [a little more is fine] or no more than one piece of art. The art doesn't have to be by you, but it will definitely boost your chances if it is!
