Winner!
StarHorse wrote:FinnFinn. The End. His name originates from the Spanish word fin, which translates to "end" in English. That's because this little guy always narrowly escapes ; his name is an oxymoron - it's like he can't meet his end. He always plays tricks and just barely gets away with it. He takes a step on a creaky wood floor to avoid a sleeping guard dog, it stirs... but it never awakes completely. He'll be running acrross the road when a car zooms by, the only thing that happens is fur gets ruffled. He's a lucky little fella.Username ; StarHorse
Hello! I'm StarHorse. Not really sure why I chose this username, but now I use it frequently and I reckon a few people around CS and possibly dA know about me. I'm StarryHorse on dA, which is similar. Why I Want Him ; The Reason
Oh I love this little Taiko. I don't fall in love with too many designs, but this one.. His design is just perfect. The black brindle ripples, the subtle brown in his ears, his curious feel. I also love the species and the way that they're built, plus with their little adorable wings and all. I saw him on CAAA, and at first, it was just another design - I scrolled down to view more posts. But something made me scroll back up, and I clicked the link, ended up here, and wrote out this form in high hopes of winning him. I promise I'll love him and spoil him with art, I promise I'll show him off a little, I promise he'll be in my heart. I love this little Taiko, and the personality and lifestyle that he seems, to me, to have.Personality ; Tricky
Finn is a little mischievous, cunning, and smart trickster. He's not one to purposely hurt people, but sometimes it ends up like that. Though he isn't all that mature and sometimes doesn't take responsibility, and this has caused him to have a slightly bad rep with some, but no one's perfect. Finn, like stated above, is a lucky little fella. He narrowly escapes most everything, and this seemingly immunity to getting in trouble has made him a bit overconfident and a trust-you-luck kind of guy. Finn tries not to cheat people out of things and make too much trouble, but he could if he wanted to. Finn the Taiko loves the water and the sea. That's how he got his rope, but that's a different story. He lives in a little townlike place with a big bay there, fed by a huge river. He loves to go swimming and finding little shells and stuff, and he lives in the trees in a rather large nest, covered by a canopy of fresh green leaves. The town is somewhat underpopulated, and he's rarely disturbed by the natives. He's extremely loyal to his friends and is good-natured, but he's a little trickster too.The Rope ; A Story
So, I bet you've been wondering about the stray rope around Finn's neck. Well, here is his story...
Finn was walking around the docks one day, minding his own business. He watched as sailors set out to sea to fish, and as night-fishers came back from their trips. Sometimes he even got to have a fish or two. It was a good day - the sun was shining, the birds were singing, the water clear and calm. Later that day, in the afternoon, Finn was walking around, watching fishermen unload the day's catch and talk about things that had happened - sharks spotted, some jellyfish stinging a native, a dog that had caught a few fish for his owner unexpectedly. Finn enjoyed it, begging when he got hungry and a pitying native would often throw him a spare fish. At the docks, one fisherman had gotten into a debate with another and they had wandered off to the other's boat to argue further. But the man had left his son behind, a preteen boy who had an interest in animals. The boy saw Finn walking around, and realizing that Taikos weren't very common, he grabbed a rope from the deck. Finn didn't realize until it was too late - the only situationo where he hadn't gotten away just in time. The boy cried out something in excitement and tied the end of the rope to a ring on the boat. Finn stood there frantically, not letting the boy touch him; he was too overwhelmed. Then the boy's father came back, and seeing that his son had used a rope without permission for tying down an animal, the man yelled something Finn could not understand and shouldered his son aside. Taking out a sharp, ragged blade, Finn pulled his ears back and thought the worst. The father took Finn and gently held him to the boat so he couldn't struggle and escape, and he cut the end of the rope tying him down to the boat. But Finn thought that the man's next move would be something different and more hurtful, and so he struggled free and fled. The other end of the rope was still tied to him, and he's still got it to this very day.Likes ; Dislikes

Favorite Drink ; Water or nectar. He loves the salty spray, but that's not good to drink - though freshwater is okay, and he loves it. Plain and simple, but it's good. He also loves nectar, meaning just any sort of sweet, calm, drink - not fizzy or anything, just calm and sweet.

Many Thanks! ; Good Luck <3
I do really hope to win this Taiko, but if I don't, I know the owner chosen will give him a good home <3 I wish the best of luck to all of us, and I thank you, SnowStar for making this little beauty, and thank Pine. for making the adorable lineart and making it free for anyone to use! I may add more to my form, but I'm not sure. Again, best of luck, thank you, and have a wonderful day <3
