♫ OriginsThousands of years ago, alongside the legendary Amazon river was a tribe of people known for revering animals as deities, as well as being the first civilization to create their own species. Scientists have been unearthing evidence of their spiritual activity for years now, searching for evidence of this creature, however just last month they have come across ground-breaking evidence. Paintings of mysterious creatures, adorned with feathery crests and spitting fire from their mouth were found engraved inside the walls of a newly-discovered shrine. In the center of the shrine lay a vase adorned with the same feathers depicted in the engravings. Inside the vase lay a mysterious fossil, perfectly in-tact and seemingly immune to nature's forces. Stunned by the miraculous find, the fossil was given to a renowned anthropologist, who was dumbfounded as to what it could be. The fossil, despite the obvious age of the shrine, seemed to be very new - as if it was only fossilized a decade ago rather than thousands of years.
A team of archaeologists were sent off in search of this creature, despite their doubts that it even existed anymore. After months of tireless searching, they came across a lucky find - a trail of strange, clawed tracks leading up alongside the Amazon. The team followed the trail, and it lead up to a small den. An aura of warmth seeped out of its entrance, and after a few moments, a small creature lifted its head out, blinking curiously at its pursuers. The team was astonished to see that the creature looked very similar to that of the shrine's mysterious engravings.
The lizard-like creature was taken back to the lab, where it was confirmed to be the same creature as the fossil. Soon after, other teams began to find that within the Amazon was an entire population of these creatures, living off the land for countless years. Scientists decided to name them 'Pseudodragons' for their depictions in the shrine's engravings represented a dragon spitting fire at its prey. Years passed, and many of the Pseudodragons were taken in by humans to keep as pets. Today, this tradition continues and Pseudodragons remain a very popular household pet for their ability to hunt down mice and other pests.

Name:
Vivian
(means "Alive" in Latin)
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Vivian is vivacious. She's very energetic and loves to run around. She absolutely ADORES climbing, and will often climb up trees to get a better view of the world around her. Vivian is only tame to an extent - she prefers to be off on her own than in the company of others. While she prefers the great outdoors to any indoor house or condo, she still loves humans. She doesn't mind hanging around them - thought too much social stimulation can cause her to bounce off the walls or become agressive.
Vivian HATES loud noises, and will often try to escape from them if she can't find a different way to block out the noise.
While being a quiet pseudodragon, she isn't sluggish or slow in the least. She loves to run and jump around, so if she's not doing that, she's either sick or depressed, and may need to be cheered up with a simple song and dance routine (these are her favorite things to watch on TV).
Vivian's very picky about what she eats. She absolutely HATES anything brown. If it's even slightly brown-colored, she won't eat it. She loves the color yellow, and will often drink lemonade or eat lemons solely because of their vibrant color. She doesn't mind sour foods, so she loves to just sit down and eat a whole bowl of lemons - perhaps with a bit of sugar sprinkled on top. Vivian, while being a picky eater, LOVES to eat. She likes cheeses and breads, and ADORES Grilled Cheese sandwiches.
Vivian has a nickname - it's Valkyrie. Valkyries were from Norse mythology - they were creatures who would watch over battlefields, taking away the soldiers which had passed away (mainly their spirits). In a way, they guided and helped the lost souls that had died in combat. Vivian's nickname is this because of her love of Norse mythology, and these creatures in particular. Vivian acts a lot like them, as she's very compassionate to those who are older than she, and she'll often visit older pseudodragons who can't really get around as quickly as she; she'll help them get food or water, and tend to their wounds. While Vivian's normally a very energetic being, she tends to slow down for a bit when she's around the elderly.
Vivian isn't very social, other than helping the elderly. She prefers to be by herself, exploring different areas of houses or jungles, leaping and bounding from one tree to the next.
When Vivian was a child, her father gave her a silver locket, that had previously belonged to her mother, and a stuffed bunny. She's kept both of these items throughout her life, and still has them today.
