Why her feather is important to her:
Memory's feather is important to her because her child(owner) gave it to her. When she was about 2 years old, the child, Emma, attached a feather to her mane and told her she was the most beautiful horse in all the land. And with this feather, she would always remember Emma. Later that month, Emma and her family had to leave right away, as a terrible storm was coming. Where they were going had no stall or room to keep Memory, so they had to leave her behind. They were going many miles away, as they lived in the desert/wild, and the closest place to go for safety was awhile away. Emma and her family didn't have a very nice house; it was made only of logs. As the family rode off in their horse and buggy(the horses would be sold), Emma called out to Memory. "Be brave, Memory! I will find you again!" Memory whinnied back sadly, as she watched her child's voice and silent crying disappear. Memory, the only name she had ever known, decided to rename herself in memory of her child. She thought of the first name that came to her. Forgotten Child. To this day, she continues to wander around, whinnying, trying to find her lost child, known as Emma.
