Deersserts are deer made of ice cream with toppings!
They are obviously icecream,
with hooves made of ice cream cones,
whipped cream tails (don't forget the cherry on top!),
and some have horns and other little toppings added to them.
Deersserts come in a variety of flavors.
The most common being chocolate and vanilla.
Deersserts are about the size of Border Collies.
...or should we say
deer listeners?
Halloween's a time when people dress up like their favourite characters, so I figured it'd be a good time to do some tribute deerssert!
This is based off of
Cecil Baldwin from
Welcome to Nightvale. I would prefer if you only tried out if you know what WTNV is, please.
...that aside! This goes off of a lot of my own headcanons. Two sets of eyes, light/pale skinned, platinum hair, tentacle tattoos that glow. Ice cream flavour is glowcloud!

I missed out on the Night Vale mutatoes, JBD, and pony.
But the deer shall be mine.
A little mood music to start us off...

Aaah, now that's... pretty much an impossible question xD I will bring it down to a single one if I must, but... if I may, I'd like to list the ones that tie for top favorite moment.
'Hello? Hello, Desert Bluffs? What is this studio?
Hey there, Desert Bluffs! I don’t know if you can hear me. Kevin here. I don’t know where I am. It’s a radio studio, but the walls are darker. The equipment looks much older. Certainly much drier than it should be. The microphone was made…when? Have I gone back in time? ... It is night. I think it is night. It is night. You may not know me, nor I you, but we have this mic, and this voice, and your warm ears blossoming open to hear comforting secrets in the vibrations of a voice that pulse so deep into your body, your heart relaxes for a time. And we have this, sitting right here on this odd and bloodless desk. So now, dear listeners, whoever you are, I give you the weather.
....
Night Vale? I do not know if you can hear me. This is Cecil, and I do not know where I am. It is clearly a radio studio, but the walls are covered in blood, and instead of dials and buttons on the soundboard, there is just animal viscera, glistening under the green LED lights. I hope this microphone works. Am I in hell?
Dana? Dana, can you hear me?
Listeners, if you can hear the sound of my voice, please contact the Sheriff’s Secret Police. There is so much blood, it is seeping into my shoes! There are — oh, masters of us all, no! — teeth scattered across the floor. The window into the control booth is shattered and there is a swath of skin and a fistful of long clumping hair hanging from a sharp glass point! I do not know if this is even Night Vale.' - The Sandstorm, part A and B
While there were a number of other moments before this that I deeply enjoyed, this... The Sandstorm takes a special place because that's when things got... really weird and dove straight into incredible Lovecraftian terror. I didn't even catch the 'bloodless desk' part the first time around, not really-- I just thought I misheard something else, and the guy sounds so darn cheerful! Then you got to the second part and... -shivers- I won't say it made it hard to sleep that night, but it's the kind of image that sticks with you, especially when you start digging into the fan theories. That's what I'd say is my favorite scary moment from the show... ... actually. Second favorite.
'Carlos looked at the setting sun. “I used to think it was setting at the wrong time,” he said, “but then I realized that time doesn’t work in Night Vale, and that none of the clocks are real. Sometimes things seem so strange, or malevolent, and then you find that, underneath, it was something else altogether. Something pure, and innocent.”
"I know what you mean," I replied.
Somewhere, the tiny people of the city below have arrived in Night Vale, and are beginning their war against us — having already shown themselves capable of murder. Somewhere, a Man in a Tan Jacket is whispering into the ears of our mayor, and we do not know what agenda they pursue. Somewhere, the body of the Apache Tracker lies cold and still, never to speak of ancient Indian magics again.
This all happens somewhere else.
But here, Carlos and I sat on the trunk of that car — his car — looking together at the lights up in the sky above the Arby’s…they were beautiful in the hushed twilight, shimmering in a night sky already coming alive with bits of the universe.
One year later. One year since he arrived. He put his hand on my knee and said nothing. And I knew what he meant. I felt the same. I leaned my head on his shoulder.
We understand the lights. We understand the lights above the Arby’s. We understand so much.' -One Year Later
This is by far my favorite Carlos/Cecil moment. I know a lot of people would list the kiss for their best moment but... honestly? I feel it really pales compared to this. It's hard to explain exactly why, but I just found this to be incredibly moving, you really get a feel for the sheer depth of what Cecil must be feeling then. The fact that it marks the shift from Cecil just being kind of a stalker with a crush to there being something real between the two of them (I am fully behind the idea that Carlos' 'some things are pure and innocent' remark is not just about Night Vale itself, but also Cecil) without there being some... massive, grand gesture. Just two guys who care about each other, who've gone through an emotionally and physically exhausting day finally getting a moment of peace and quiet.
' Cecil, I’m sorry I lost your call. I made it out of the door, out of the empty house and its empty photographs into an empty desert, and I don’t know if anything has improved. I can see nothing but endless sand and a single distant mountain — a mountain I have never seen, because I don’t believe in mountains. But there is a mountain, and there is a tiny red light up on the mountain, intermittently blinking.
As I exited the house, the door shut behind me and now it’s gone. As I walked, I moved through something that wasn’t there. I heard voices through digital static, and felt a cold wind across my body. The others are here, but not here, Cecil.
What, or who, did I just walk through?
Cecil, something is coming. You can feel it in the ground, something very large is coming. I’ve gotta go. I will call when I can, and tell my mother and brother I am out of the Dog Park and I am safe. For now.
Thank you, Cecil.' -Dana
Let's leave aside the fact that this episode starred my favorite character, who was in turn voiced by an actress from one of my all-time favorite shows. I feel this is hands-down the most beautiful moment from WTNV so far, or at least... just one of the most moving. I actually teared up during this part, because... we've spent the whole episode worrying about Dana, wondering what's become of her and what's this house, then... a mountain with a blinking red light. Everything we thought we knew is turned upside down, inside out and who knows what else. Even if it's just a trick of the light... it was still an incredible image, and I am quite anxious to see what (if anything) might become of it in the future... and more importantly, what happens with Dana. It was also just... an incredible performance by Jasika Nicole, especially with that last 'thank you, Cecil', and I seriously hope she'll come back again soon.
And, finally...
'But, before they left, the witnesses said that some low-flying Yellow Helicopters began dropping orange leaflets onto the city streets. The leaflets read:
StrexCorp Synernists, Inc.
Look around you: Strex
Look inside you: Strex
Go to sleep: Strex
Believe in a smiling God: StrexCorp
It is EVERYTHING.
Oh…oh no. Uhh, dear listeners, we must issue an apology. Those helicopters are completely…safe. Even safer than safe. In fact, StrexCorp recently bought our little radio station from the mysterious, unseen forces who founded it centuries ago. Uhh, I’m glad to know that Josie will be OK, and that StrexCorp has come to Night Vale.
Rest easy, listeners, knowing that this was all just a simple misunderstanding. But now we fully understand everything that is happening, and we are not misunderstanding anything else at all. We are completely…safe.' -The Yellow Helicopters.
Okay, yeah, forget The Sandstorm. If you weren't just 'nope'ing into the sun after hearing that line, you weren't listening to the show. Or StrexCorp already got to you. Either way, this is by far the scariest moment in the show... ... so far.
favourite character from wtnv:
Yet another hard pick, but I'll try not to text-wall you this time xD Old Woman Josie was my first favorite, and I still love her and her angels quite a bit. It's just... really sweet, thinking there's these great heavenly beings who shouldn't exist, and they're just hanging around this old lady and helping her with the chores. (And, once again, fan theories just increase that love even more.)
We've also got The Faceless Woman, and... seriously, who wouldn't vote for her? I admit, a lot of the love comes from her voice actress, Mara Wilson... and hey, we all saw what she did to the Nostalgia Critic. Don't cross her. It's just a wonderfully snarky, subdued performance, and I'm really glad to see she's a recurring character.
But, in the end... Intern Dana (or her double-- personally, I choose to believe the current Dana is the original until we get proof otherwise) is my favorite character. She fought and won in the Sandstorm, she went into the Dog Park and survived, actually made friends with The Man in The Tan Jacket, been in the house that doesn't exist... and now she's... well. Somewhere else. Hopefully somewhere save from StrexCorp, certainly-- in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up in the next episode, or runs into a certain black-eyed radio host... -coughs- But my point is. We all thought Dana was going to end up like the rest of the interns, dead to some nightmarish fate and forgotten within a week. Instead, she's endured it all and never failed in her duties to report the news to Cecil, no matter how difficult that might be. And on a more meta level... I was (and to a degree, still am) a massive fan of the show Fringe, and among my favorite characters was Astrid Farnsworth, played by Jasika Nicole. So when I saw the news that she was voicing my favorite Night Vale character... yeah, her place was sealed forever xD
what you think the glow cloud tastes like:
The Glow Cloud tastes the way its colors sound.
The colors sound like dead animals raining down on a rooftop. So... probably kind of stale, putrid and coppery. (Or like cherries. I can see the glow cloud tasting like cherries.)

Cecil or Carlos honestly. Maybe the glow cloud.
what you think the glow cloud tastes like:
Hmm, I guess because it leaves dead animals in its wake, it would taste like flesh or something, but no. I think it has no taste. It's like water. Depends on where you achieve it from the taste will be different, but all the same in the end.

favourite character from wtnv: Cecil, he's such a lovable sweetheart beautiful creature
what you think the glow cloud tastes like:
It is simple my good listener, the glow cloud tastes like glow cloud, if not then why would it be named such a thing. Just as I taste like I do and Cecil tastes like Cecil.
I have also herd that it tastes like rain and, of all things, tyrany. It and dictatorship are the same, but I have herd tyrany sounds better, so it is obvious the glow cloud would want to be told it tastes like tyrany. Who would not?
Oh trust me, I know
