Sooty Claybank Dun

Postby Scarlip » Sat Jul 20, 2013 6:21 am

My last entry (original artist). :)
Since I decided I don't like my first entry enough to keep it up, I created this girl instead. Gosh I like her so much better. xD

I experimented a little with the quipping, made it horizontal and added a paint-like, pale "fringe".

As for the name of her coat color, I got majorly confused. I knew there are horses in real life that are very, very pale dun with red mane & tail and markings, but I didn't know what exactly they're called.
I googled without any result, red dun was too dark for her (under the Sooty spots her base color is very pale), buttermilk buckskin didn't have red tones, and so on. Eventually I found this pic here as well as this definition of Claybank Dun: "The horse is suppose to look like a creamy version of a red dun."
I thought it fits, if I'm wrong please correct me. ^^

Random dorsal stripe on the tail is random. :P
