history;;

- you may think this girlie's wings are a strange
sight to see, but in her tribe, it's more common
than rare. Pegasus was born to two young Shao
deeply in love, only recently have become mates.
Together, they had prepared an accessory for
their child, gender unknown due to the limited
technology. They had no care or wish to have a
winged child, as most in their village would love
to have, but when a little Peggy tumbled into life,
they were taken by her nubby wings. But they
were overjoyed, nonetheless, attached the
necklace to her neck, and cooed her official
name, thus naming the child, Asami.
Pegasus led a normal childhood, her lust for
exploration growing side by side with age.
Of course, other Shao her age adored her and
her wings; when she took off as a teen to find
adventure, both groups of childhood friends
and family were bittersweet about her leaving.
To this day, Pegasus explores the world, finding
something new to like everyday.

her necklace;;

- what does her necklace mean to her? Well,
it holds sentimental value to her; Pegasus's
father polished, shined, and found the stones,
while her mother crafted the string that held
together the bead-like stones. Why is this little
necklace so important? For one thing, she adores
how her parents labored to create the perfect
accessory for their daughter, as well as the
meaning embedded in the necklace itself. In her
father's family line, there was a tradition that was
passed on every generation the line continued;
create a unique accessory for your child. Her
mother has a bracelet, her father's gift to
his mate; her father had a dyed feather from his
parents.

- I've chosen the name Pegasus for this little
girl, simply for her will to be free and wings.
Pegasus isn't her real name, actually. It's
Asami, a Japanese name meaning sea
or morning, as her teal markings were the
first to be seen by her mother. Although,
rarely any of her friends call her Asami; in
fact, her first name is unknown to most.
Pegasus has many nicknames, the most
common being Peggy.

- it's hard to admit that this pretty thing is anything
but a lovely little girl.

- pegasus is a just a dreamer, if you were to
sum up her detailed personality in one short
word. Vivid dreams accompany the darkness
when her eyes are shut, while others just see
the bare color of black. Everything has a meaning,
complicated or simple, or even near nonexistent,
as Pegasus says. A rock in the sand keeps things
down, like gravity. The sky is there for you to
gaze at dreamily. Most of these little sayings
come from her explorations to tame the curious
side inside of her, which, somehow, never
manages to be mild; instead, it rockets above
like she and flight together. She goes wherever
her mind and spirit wishes, basically. Curiosity
is the force that drives this little winged beast,
dragging her along wherever adventure calls her to.
Her ways are like a nomad, free of stress and
relaxed. Pegasus is a patient gal, as she
learned from her hobbies. She's also motherly,
especially to those in need of tender care, such
as injured birds and sometimes even broken plants.

- my wings unfold before me, always mystique
and amazing me with their complex ways. I
touch the gem-embroidered necklace loose
on my neck, comforted by its soothing
presence and cool surface. I breath one
last time, casting a brief glance at my teal-
tipped wings. Wind brushes against my back
as my eyes are shut, protected against the
invisible waves. Slowly, the world reappears
in front of me. Mundane white and gray clouds
hang near me, blocking view yet bringing a
dreamy sense with them. They touch my cheek
as gently as my mother's beloved and generously
given kisses. My heart stings from the beauty
of the sky, breath taken away. I begin to hum
the little lullaby my mother sang to me at
nighttime. I look back to my feathered wings,
uplifting my body, keeping me afloat, and
closer to the celestial bodies above. What
is my destination? Nowhere in particular, really.
Just everywhere.
