Courage
I may seem weak and small
Certainly not imposing at all
But no mistake that I am a steadfast friend
One who will stay by your side until the end

My quick spring can take me far
In a single bound I can be far away from where you are
I shall not use my speed in cowardice flight
Unlike most deer I will stand up to the lion's bite

Don't misunderstand me
I still feel fear.
I still have the instinct to flee
When a storm arises or the predator is near

But I have chosen friendship over fright
I will remain by your side through thick and thin
A friend to comfort you during the night
A small but mighty ally on which you may depend.

I absolutely love DIk-Diks! I am so impressed with their tenacity even with their small size. I wanted to write a poem that reflected this little beauty's courage and unwavering friendship. ( i hope i did a good job) She is absolutely gorgeous!

My little doe, by hobbit geek

I watch my sweet darling grow,
She is my little doe,
She sings sweet songs to the morning dawn,
As we sit and wait on the bright green lawn.

I wish there were words to show my love,
But sadly no one knows them, not even a dove,
As the sunlight shines with light that shows your beauty,
It shows the brightness of your eyes not the color of a ruby.

And so I say, my little doe,
How I love you so,
How you make my morning bright,
With your smile like the suns sweet light.

A gorgeous sight,
So clean and bright,
A creature full of song and grace.
Through the forest prances she
As delicate as ornate lace.

Her eyes, the color of the sea,
Her back is dappled like the sky.
Her nose, as tiny as a pea,
Can smell the birds that flitter by.

And she dances through the trees
And her tiny feet touch the grass
And all the forest admires
This lovely little lass.
