WTE Name: Luthien
WTE Age: 9 Years
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15 hh
Personality: Luthien is an old soul in a not-too-aged body- the loss of his mate four years ago has made him a quiet creature who is muted when it comes to others. He prefers to spend his time alone- and is especially scarce during breeding seasons. His dappled coat allows him to blend in well in the shadows of the jungle, out of touch with others. It's not that he doesn't want to- he just needs the right person to bring him out of that shell. He's a wise Whip Tail though, using his observations and knowledge to his best advantage- and will offer help to anyone who might ask for it.
He loves the sound of laughter and rain, though he won't go looking for them- but he enjoys to bathe in the sounds when they occur around him, happy to let them run down and soothe his soul.
Story
Rain droplets rolled down his broad back as he stood, like a sentinel, on the edge of the cliff. Thunder rolled and stomped its hooves in the far off pasture of the horizon, and flickers of lightning jumped from cloud to cloud overhead, in a gray, gloomy sky. His coat looked as though many snowflakes had drifted onto it and never left his mahogany coat. He closed his emerald eyes as the water softly brushed his face like the cool caress of the evening sky. Tears from above, consoling the emptiness in his own shell of a body. A year, a whole year, the turning of the seasons, wet and dry, had passed since that twilight. Since the last time he had felt her warm muzzle against his neck and looked into her gray-blue eyes.

It was a gray and lavender twilight, with clouds crowding the air- but it seemed no worse than any other rainstorm. Nothing to disturb the couple’s routine as they walked down to the river, letting the cool water brush against their fetlocks as they sipped from the river and munched on the florae scattered around it. Luthien just let her laugh- oh, how he loved her laugh, sweeter than birdsong and honeysuckle. They had romped together, kicking up diamond droplets as the thunder sounded, like soft, far-off nickers, that meant little to the joyous pair.

They had fallen asleep on the shoreline, cradled by the shoregrass, heads resting near one another, their side warm against once another. They were so deep in sleep that they had no chance to react when the weeping heavens caused the land to fail. One moment, Luthien and his dear one were in dreamland, and the next, they were locked in a mass of sliding mud, choking and kicking their legs to try and climb out from the landside. Luthien whinnied to his mate, who let out a choked out scream, before the mud muffled her calls, and his world was turned upside down as he was tumbled down the slope. There was no control, no chance to gain a grip, they were crushed in the tearing paws of a treacherous earth that would sweep them both away, dumping their bodies alone and secluded.

Luthien only had those fragmented memories still- he had searched for her for over a fortnight, but to no avail- she was gone, and he would never feel her touch again. He tried to move on, but it was crushing. It felt, some days, like he was still locked in that grip of the suffocating mud.

Raindrops sounded like quiet notes of a gentle melody, cooling to his body, but warming to the senses. He let himself be carried away by their harmonious sound. It was a distraction, a blessed one. The breeze ruffled his mane, as he stood once again in the present day, on a dark and somber anniversary. He raised his head and softly called out a pained echo of a whinny- hoping to call his beloved back to him once more.

(The picture is not the story, just a sketch…this isn’t very good I’m afraid!)

Genes: Red base: AA=Brindle, Aa=Sabino

Extra: Luthien Sketch
This was all handpainted without lines- base coat was with a brush, but allll those details were with a toothpick. XD It's not great but! I was going for primitive look, and focusing mostly on color. XD

Nope, no requirements. Just make it under 500 words, if It's like 520 words that's ok too. Just try not to make it too long :P

Story
You want to hear a story? Well, I have a ton. But how would you like to here the one about how I met my mate Aoife?

It was a cold, snowy night. The full moon shined down on the land, blanketing the white earth in light. I caught a movement out of he side of my eye and turned to find the source. And that's when I saw her, laying in the snow, caught under both a ray of moonlight, and shadows. I turned and went to her. Upon my arrival I noticed several large claw marks. "Hello?" I said softly, not wanting to scare her. She threw her head up, but it slowly fell down in pain. "I'm Zane." I told her, laying beside her to keep her warm and so that she could see me more clearly. Who are you? And, if you dont mind me asking, what happend?" i asked her, not wanting to bring back any oainful memories. "I'm ..... Aoife." she told me quietly. She then looked out into the distance and said "Wolfs." that was all I needed to hear. "We need to get you up." I told her gently. "Right now you are a perfect target for hypothermia and the wolfs. You need to get out of here." I told her. "I have no where to go." she told me, I immediately felt sorry for the poor mare. "You can come home with me." I told her. She looked up at me and smiled, and her orange-purple eyes twinkled in the moonlight.

We then started trying to get her up. She couldn't do it on her own. "Here," I told her "you try to get up, and I'll push you up with my muzzle." "Wirth a shot." she said, looking up at me with a thankful expression. So she started to get up, and I pushed her gently, she started to slip in the icy snow, I pushed her harder until she was up right. But then she started falling over the other way, so I ran over to her other side and, carful of her gashes, threw my shoulder into hers until she was standing on her own. I backed away slowly, as to make sure she wouldn't fall over. She turned her head slowly around and looked at me, then she just laughed, "don't worry! I'm fine!" "Ok then, let's go." I said as I helped her walk back to where I lived, but she needed no help walking right into my heart.

On the way, she opened up her heart to me and told me her while life story. She told me about how she had an older sister Feya, who she loved very much, and how she left home just to find some adventure. How she ended up here, and even the story about being attacked by the wolves. And right as we reached my home, she was telling me about when she saw me, seeing her, I couldn't help but laugh. But she said she felt like I was an angel, sent to save her. Now I really laughed. "Here we are!" I told her. "She looked around at the small cave underneath a canopy of trees. I helped her to lay down carfully, then finding some yarrow to heal her gashes. I lay down beside her, to keep her warm, and because I had discovered I loved her, and I never left. "You know," I told her, " I never really beleives in love at first sight. But I just proved myself wrong." She looked at me and smiled, she layed her head down on my neck, and she laid by my side, and she too never left.

Well, that's the story of his I met my mare Aofie, thanks for listening! *Applause here*

Not as long as it looks! Only about 500 words!

WTE Name: Winter's Doom
WTE Age: 10 Years Old
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15 hh
Personality: Doom is a sweet, caring WTE. He is very protective of others and does not wish that anyone gets hurt. He enjoys spending time with other WTEs and hearing their stories. He is a people pleaser and likes to see other happy WTEs. He is very optimistic and almost always refuses to look at the bad side of things
Story It's exactly 240 words long!

Doom strolled through the forest, unaware that he walked up death. For Doom had wandered into Naples, Italy. Home to one of the biggest volcanoes on earth, Mount Vesuvius. He tilted his head, listening to a bird twittering nearby. He gazed towards a large mount, full of green grass. Eagerly he turned to the hill, in hope for an energizing meal.

As he headed for the lush foliage he thought about the surrounding area. He was an optimistic WTE, and looked over the bad things in life. Therefore, his mind skipped over the recent lava flows and the grumbling noise coming from deep with the mountain. The closer he got to the top, the more steady the rumblings became. He mistook them for his stomach growling and hurried along.

As he reached the base of the mount he paused, sniffing the air for trouble. He quickly dismissed the thought and continued upwards. After a few bites, the mountain shook. Then shook again. Each time it shook, becoming more and more violent. Animals and people began streaming down the mountain, running for their lives. Doom, startled paused and the ran down the slope, leaping over obstacles and trying to figure out what happened.

Still to this day, Doom has not actively searched for the answer to the question. He refuses to find the source of the event that ruined s life and drove him away from the city of his dreams.

WTE Age: 5 years
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15 hh
Personality: he is kind, understanding, sweet and caring to everyone. He can get snappy or mad and might lash out like white fire at times. He is wild and free like a mustang, shy, sensitive and caustous like a meerkat, sweet and caring like a mouse, brave, loyal and firece like a lion and beautiful and graceful like a Phoenix. He takes time to play with foals and is always gentle with them. He would protect anyone in need at any cost to himself.
Story 306 words exactly
rusty was walking with his herd in the fall of 2009.
As the least respected whiptail he was in the far back of the herd. Everyone though he was all jokes and never Sirius which did her him angry, but he put up with it. One of the days they walked he saw a motherless foal, instead of doing what any of the over whiptails would have though he would have, which was ignore the foal and make a joke about it in a few days. He left the herd for a moment to see if the foal was okay. As he got near he realized that the newborn foal was trying to run away from a mountain lion on shaky legs. Rusty charged at the lion thrusting his horns and rearing and pawing at the lion angrily. The lion ran away and rusty saw the body of a mare, he walked over and relized she did not die of the lion but of giving birth to a foal to big. He looked up and saw the foal hiding in the grass and walked over "what's your name?" He asked "Andrien" the colt replyed. That had been Rusty's brothers name Ann's he knew it meant "man, warrior" he nuzzled the colt onto his hooves "come" he said leading the foal back to his herd, who had stopped when they realized he was not there and thought he was playing a trick. They gaspe when they saw the foal beside him and asked where his mother was "she died" he said"he saved me from a mountain lion" Andrian said which shocked them even more.
From that day forward he raised Andrian and everyone respected him more then they did, and a few years later he fought the lead stallion and chased him away, becoming lead stallion himself.

WTE Name: Chayton (Native American Sioux name meaning falcon)
WTE Age: 12 years
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15 hh
Personality: Chayton is a loyal, strong stallion who rarely backs down from a challenge. He's a bit headstrong and willful, but his determination has helped to save his herd countless times. Although he isn't the most social of Whip-Tails, he is loyal to his herd and kind to those in need.
Story I apologize, it's 508 words ^^" I can try to edit something out if you want me to get it below 500... Also, since WTEs live in jungle-like areas, I tried to use a "jungle" predator and descriptions~

Blinking against the bright glare of the sun, Chayton studied the land around the herd. Today, the lead stallion had brought the small group beyond the safety of the thick trees to a rich grazing area. Although the grass was plentiful and quite delicious, the brindle male couldn’t help but feel wary. While in the safety of the dense forest, Whip-Tails were quite capable of evading predators – those that managed to crawl through and sneak up on the equines that is. So, Chayton was at his unofficial guarding post – keeping a careful eye over the grazing herd.

For most of the morning, nothing happened beyond a strong gale whipping dust and dirt into the eyes and noses of the Whip-Tails. But the peace was soon shattered partway into the afternoon, as several of the herd began to doze in the warm golden rays. Ears pricked and tail lashing, Chayton bellowed in warning, his hooves already carrying him toward the source of danger. It was a large male Jaguar, bounding toward a smaller Whip-Tail, racing to take down its unaware target. Legs pumping, chest heaving, he charged forward and leapt – colliding full-force against the thickly muscled body of the large feline. Tumbling to the ground, he kicked out his legs in an attempt to land a blow on the wildcat. However, his hooves merely grazed the spotted pelt before the Jaguar managed to twist away. Scrambling, Chayton pushed himself up and faced the predator.

The Jaguar bared its long, knife-sharp, bone-white teeth in a vicious snarl before it leapt at its new target – Chayton. Ears pinned back, the stallion reared and bellowed once more – his voice near a roar. Talon-like claws knifed into Chayton’s hide, forcing a shrill whinny to slip through his throat. The stallion bucked and kicked, doing his best to dislodge his attacker. Finally, after several minutes of the Jaguar trying to deliver a fatal blow and Chayton lashing out with his hooves, the big cat fell away from the invigorated Whip-Tail. Sides heaving, the brindle-coated didn’t hesitate before rearing and kicking the Jaguar. Howling in pain, the spotted feline darted away, a limp visible as it raced through the bushes and back into the jungle. Despite his injuries, the stallion turned and glanced about – searching to make sure all the Whip-Tails of the herd were safe; and he spotted each familiar coat lingering on the horizon, still wary of possible attacks. Ears back up, Chayton reared and whinnied to the others, it was safe for them once again!

That evening, Chayton lay with the herd in the safety of the dense forest. The majority of his wounds weren’t deep and the bleeding had stopped hours ago. Only a few still hurt him when he moved around too much. But Chayton wasn’t going to complain, he managed to protect the herd and had potentially stopped a predator from ever being able to hunt them ever again. So, satisfied with the outcome of the day, Chayton lay down his head and let himself drift off to sleep…
