Fern is a black bird with green swirl markings on her wings and belly. There is a large swirl on her head, and it goes around one of her eyes. Her beak and eyes are both green. This is not really a bird you'd expect named Fern, as birds named Fern aren't usually mostly black; but that's her name, anyway. She is usually peaceful but can snap at you if you really get her mad.
