I only have a few charries so I don't organize them into species yet, but yeah maybe grouping them by worlds would give some context to their overall design ? ^-^

What is your inspiration for giving a character its name? (personality, history, design, species, etc.)

For me it all depends on the overall design of the character. I love foreign/fantasy sounding names for my more exotic looking characters and more "realistic" names for my "normal" characters. I often name my characters first before developing a personality/history for them because I just find it easier that way for me!

How do you decide on a name for a character?

The overall design, colors, and the "vibe" of the character really.

Any input for Batman's dilemma/question?

As far as grouping characters into "worlds" or time periods in which they would exist, I see no problem in doing so! I have some characters that would make absolutely no sense if they existed in our world, so I often imagine/group them in their own world. I don't have them grouped by those worlds though, it is mainly just for me to picture/imagine them. But I don't see a problem with grouping them up based off of the world they would belong to and what species. That might actually really help keeping track of them! I say do it!!

So starting off with the new characters, I went of a little spree this past weekend... Oops.

I'm looking for friendships and a boyfriend for Jem here. He's got a quiet and reserved, almost apathetic character. He's sarcastic and has a pretty twisted sense of humor, but can be quite sweet to friends and lovers. PM me for more information. you could put in a separate tab such as "world of Warcraft" characters or whatever you've named their world rather than reorganising everything by worlds, if you wanted to avoid that ;v; or perhaps another tab called "fantasy" ? idk ;v; i had a similar dilemma -- where to put my homestuck fancharacters. i didn't really want them w/ humanoids, but i also didn't particularly want them w/ other fandom characters. so i just gave them their own tab. overall, i think you should do it as you see fit ! if you don't like the layout of worlds, you could always change it back ;v; hope that helped !

sometimes i literally randomly make up a name
usually its their design or theme with regards to the characters origin [eg. a medevial name for a medevial character, etc]

im not really too picky w/ names. like i'll give them a name and then im like "yep that's your name now no going back"

i have 5 current ones. i also had 3 who were on sona trials but i don't really count them as past sonas since they lasted for a/less than a day

well lynt has over 200 pieces of art. aside from sonas, ackdan has the most art w/ 150+ pieces

yeah !
like derek is a scientist, for example. he wishes the government wouldn't have him study shapeshifters. hes sick of studying shapeshifters since they are v sassy to him 99% of the time. the other 1% of the time they're asleep

Do any of your characters drive? Whether they're human or anthro or any other creature, what sort of licence plate would they have? A goofy one or just a random numbers one?

i ship based on personality, although notably sometimes some ships i create [notably these are usually crack!ships] are just random
sometimes ships are based upon their themes and made to work w/ their personalities
developing the ship is the most important to me bc i love to develop my ocs and their ships
im not really that fussy about art, even tho i do draw a lot of the art of some oc ships. one of my friends that owns a lot of the other halves of some of my oc ships doesn't draw them much, but i don't really mind at all ?? and same for roleplaying and writing. its nice if the other can do so, but im fine if they cant
if its just me than development is still the most important part about it tbh. since then i can accurately portray them in art and writing

When writing about your characters, do you develop a story, and base their personality WITHIN their story, or create a personality, and then write a world and story around that?

personality first. occasionally some will have history ideas before their personality, but they usually get a personality soon after
