Furtopian Adopts is a custom lineworked character adoption species.
Artists, as per requirement, have to make their own linework and colour them in.
It's similar to Dollhouse Adopts but...Furries?

And the background template CAN be edited to different colours or remade entirely as long as the three sections are distinct from each other? I didn't think anything was wrong since it's a similar idea and THEY had nothing wrong ticked against them.

Here's a direct quote from the rules.

For creating an oekaki contest :

You must provide at least one of the following which needs to be used in all entries:

• A lineart (or part of a lineart for contestants to complete).
• A proper background which features scenery and/or items (Colour-fills and gradients are not considered to be proper background).*

I do understand the way that your adoptables work.
Per our competition rules, a scenery background or something for your entrants to enter is required for competitions.
If other people were not told about this rule for their competition, it was accidentally missed by mods.

If you do not want to add scenery or provide something to edit like our rules say, you can always open forms on the adoption thread or something similar and have people provide their drawn examples that way c:
