Personality
Flame is bold, and very stubborn. He almost never lets anything get in the way of his pride, and when something does, he holds a permanent grudge. Flame is headstrong and tackles lots of things himself, and proves that he's strong enough - sometimes when he's not. He enjoys danger and is thrilled by it. He is distant, but not unfriendly.
Backstory
Flame was born in the depths of a roiling volcano. The lave spewed and moaned as Flame came into existence. His mother's cave was located in an old igneous tunnel, where lava once rolled. She could hear the lava and the wall was warm to the touch. It was perfect.
Flame was adventurous as a kit. His mother often found him staring into the crater, leaning perilously close. When his mother picked him up and carried him back to her den, he complained, waving his tiny paws.
Flame grew more bold and adventurous as he got older. He insisted his mother stay behind while he went out to hunt. He soon explored the entirety of his volcano, and wanted to travel to another land.
"Mother," He said one day, while the two of them were eating. "I want to travel. To the next volcano. Beyond that, even."
Flame's mother nodded slowly. "It has come time for you to start your own life." Though there was sadness in her voice, her eyes showed no trace. "Stay safe, my son." She touched her nose gently to Flame's ear.
Flame waved goodbye to his mother, and he looked back to see only a speck in the distance. Facing forward again, he started off.
Flame encountered many things in his travels. He found the next volcano, he met a phoenix, and eventually, he met the one. Flame was busy running through the woods, enjoying life. He pulled to a stop as the bushes creaked. Peering forward, he spotted a tall figure with four limbs. Two on the ground, two attached to its shoulders. The creature picked him up and ran its hairless paw over him. Flame struggled for a moment, but then realized something. This.. feels good!
Flame was happy with the human. She treated him kindly, and he always liked to run and hunt and bring back mice for her.

Personality
Flower is soft-spoken and gentle. She is sweet, but easily intimidated and hates making others angry or upset. She loves beautiful things like flowers or shiny stones, and she loves to collect them.
Backstory
Flower was found wandering one day in a beautiful field of sunflowers. She spend time looking at the flowers, smelling delicately with her tiny nose, and loved to hang around in the field. She didn't hear the flap of bird wings, and didn't look in time as an enormous bird she could not name snatched her up with its claws. She shrieked and struggled, but the bird's talons kept her in place. It gently dropped her in its nest, where an egg sat. The bird landed on the side of the nest and waited patiently.
The egg shifted a little bit. Its shell dented and cracked, and the egg moved more as its contents fought to free itself.
The bird rested its talon on the egg's shell to the hatchling could get out more easily. The young bird rolled out of the egg in a flash, and the mother bird took the eggshell in her beak and threw it off the edge of the nest.
The young hatchling became friends with Flower. She loved to play games with it, and the mother bird protected her as if it was her own chick.
Flower was playing hide-and-seek one day when a loud call from another bird sent her skittering out if the hiding spot. Her friend was cowering in the center of the nest.
The mother bird landed heavily in the middle of the nest so she was standing over the chick and her. Flower crept close to her friend's side and pressed against her.
The mother bird's wings flapped angrily and there were screeches and loud calls of the two birds fighting.
Flower felt like it lasted forever.
Time blurred. Space merged. Flower opened her eyes wearily. The mother bird lay against the side of the nest, her breathing ragged. Flower dashed up to who she had called her protector for so long. Struggling, she lay her paw against the wounds, but the blood kept coming. The chick was frozen in fear, staring at its mother.
The mother bird's eye was fixed on Flower as the light died out.
Flower took it to herself to care for the orphan chick. She tried to help it fly, she caught worms, and she did everything she could. One day, the young chick, now a handsome, full-grown bird, picked her up in its talons and flew away from its mother's old nest.
It laid Flower down in a clearing and nuzzled her, and then flew away.
Understanding but sad, Flower trudged through the wild until she reached a human house.
