What happened to them?: His name was originally Shadestrike, until certain events changed his life. He was part of a small group of rogues, born and raised to survive the harsh environments around him. However, as he grew up, he became too overconfident in his skills at hunting and fighting. Which lead to his downfall, and how he ended up losing one of his legs. During a patrol, he wondered too close to a vehicle which smelled of strange toxins. Before he knew it, his fellow companions were yowling his name for him to run. But it was already too late, when a human picked him up. After that, they tagged his ear and named him test subject '1386'. During that time, he lost his leg when it got crushed by a metal crate during his first escape attempt. However, his second attempt went more smoothly by pretending to have died during his recovery after another experiment. This then lead to him narrowly avoiding death, by incineration. Once out, he caught his tag on a piece of debris, and was forced to rip the top half of his ear off. But his path only fell down hill even more, his eyes were no longer the bright amber they used to be. Instead, they were a cold red colour, with white pupils. Other cats feared him, including his old group. Now he just wonders from place to place, trying to find somewhere where he would be accepted. In doing so, he changed his name to Heinios, in memory of the shadow that he has become.

What happened to them?: (200-400 words)
She was born as a pet. When she was born her owners noticed her leg was in a very odd shape and they needed to do something about it. So right away they took her to the vet. The vet sadly had to amputate the leg so it wouldn't bother her. When she was a little older, and able to understand things she started noticing she was different from all of her siblings, they were rude to her and bullied her about her leg. She often couldn't walk well because of the leg and would trip on a rug or something and fall. She was always left behind and forgotten. Her owners were selling her and her sibling one day in there yard and she was the only one not to be picked. The owners had no use for they decided to leave her in the box overnight and come back to see if anyone had adopted her the next night. When everyone was asleep she skittered out of the small box into the forest behind the yard. She slowly crept through the woods afraid of what would come and jump at her. She was doing just fine until she tripped over a big stick and yowled. Then she heard growling. It was a stray dog hunting in the woods she thought shivering- and out of nowhere it jumped from a near bush and started attacking her. That's when she got her ear ripped off. She started yowling and yowling until she heard more growling. They both stopped, then they both saw a huge wolf. The dog ran off as it chased after it. She was now ok. She lived in the forest for the rest of her life.

What happened to them?: The others speak about her in awed whispers. Wolf-killer, they call her, or fox-eater. They say she's the only cat crazy enough to fight one of the cars out on the motorway, spewing gas and slick -- and win. They say she fought off a cat twice her size with her leg caught in a trap, then found the hunter who laid the trap and chewed off their ears where they lay sleeping in the forest. They say you can see where she's been because of the claw-scratches on the trees, red with her enemies' blood. They say the last time a kestrel tried to catch her she dragged it down out of the sky with one paw and bit off its head. They say crows scatter when she approaches. They say she can walk through fire and come out unscathed. They say the dark gives her strength.

Occasionally she will hear these whispers (though not as well as she used to, with her gashed ear, symptom of unseen barbed wire rather than a battle with a supernatural menace) and she will smile a grim little smile. Some of the stories are true. Some of them are undoubtedly false. Whatever is the case, it is certain that the last thing many, many creatures have seen is the light shining red off two narrow eyes in the dark.
