personality: fen is a very small, very quiet looking little thing. though he appears sweet and gentle, he is very temperamental and violent, and has quite the sharp tongue as well. he does use his cute charm to get his way out of sticky situations - well, when he's in trouble - but he doesn't often resort to it. most of the time, his harsh words are enough.
biography: ever since he was a kit, fen had gotten treated...differently. while the other breeds were offered respect, friendliness, awe, or anything else that he deemed honorable, he and his kind were given...leniency. adoration. pity, even, all of which made him see nothing but a mockery instead of any form of appreciation. coos and pats on the head were appreciated, and his freedom to do as he liked was well liked in his younger years, but as he matured, fen found that the constant pampering and down-talking was sickening more than anything else. bitterness replaced his appreciative thinking over the time that he grew, until he withdrew himself completely from other foxes, dwarf included. he could rarely do anything - paint, explore, try to hunt or climb - without getting some snide or adoring remark from someone around him, and frankly, it was grating on his nerves to the point that his tongue sharpened along with his hermit-like seclusion. any friends he may have had withdrew from him after a while as well, though he welcomed their disappearances, because they had only ever contributed to the disgusting coddling that society had given him. even now, as he lives alone and prefers to keep away from others, he is content to stay alone with the idle hobbies he keeps up, such as gardening - his favorite flowers to grow are morning glories - or overall work with grasses and plants, as well as keeping company with different animals or birds that prefer plants over dwarf fox meat that cannot speak; oftentimes, if he is feeling lonely, he will seek them out and spill his frustrations to them instead of anyone else, because the only reliability he can see in anything is something that cannot speak back to him and offer their two cents, or their ridiculous attempts at patronizing. unfortunately, this lack of social interaction also leads him to committing crimes every now and then, though it has only ever been theft. he uses his manipulation tactics with his cute charm to trick others into forgiving him or letting him go on his way, which is the only way that he can live with being so superficially adored.
