Updates :
- elders will be released at the new milestone of 200
Background and Basic Info :
- Created and sustained within a temporal void, these creatures have no concept of time nor aging.
- Each breach of/into the void results in a new one being formed, each tear results in one being cast out in an explosion of energy, shifted through space and time until they wind up wherever it is the source of the tear originated.
- Some of the energy absorbed from their shift across planes lingers in their bodies and can be seen emanating from their eyes, nose, mouth, and sometimes their ears. Often they can be seen with a faint outline around themselves if in complete darkness.
- Accustomed to, and built for, the stark cold of space - each of these creatures tends to be drawn towards the frigid climates of whatever planet it finds itself upon. Some, however, have been drawn to more tropical regions and, after shedding quite a bit of their thicker fur, have settled down quite nicely there.
- Unfortunately the sudden onslaught of sound that reaches their extremely sensitive ears is often far too much for each shifter to deal with and will most likely result in that shifter to live in solitude up on the highest elevation point that they can find. Occasionally they will take mates and start families but will do so only with others of their kind who happen to fall into the same zone as they.
- As communications in their void was difficult, even with the constant increase in their hearing abilities, the shifters have no language of their own. Instead they adopt whatever form of speech their surroundings offer. Or not, some remain without language for the duration of their long lives. They have no need to breath and create sounds through vibrations in the string running along the back of their throat. Lacking a need to eat and sleep, they hardly ever appear to be fatigued.
- The height and weight of each one varies, but in general each shifter is around the size of a horse and a healthy one has their weight in proportion to so
- Though they do not age per say, they do grow over time. A "newborn" being the size of a pony, "mature" a horse [roughly one century], "elders" reaching mountainous heights [roughly five centuries]
- They can be a range of colors - from the most vibrant hue you've ever seen to the absolute dullest. They can have many differing markings and colors or, less commonly, have a plain coat.
