Bio:
The consistent roar echoed across the vast sand of the burning desert. The source was three quads, each painted gold with a black stripe around it. The center rider wore a backpack, broad and stretched by its smooth, round contents. The riders wore bandanas and goggles over their helmet-less faces while the roaring machines below them threw the sand into furious spirals of dirt and air. Overhead, the sun pounded on their backs, glowering menacingly at the three riders.
The peak of the group turned to the left, followed shortly by the other two and chased fervently by a raging cloud of dust. They rode on for several hours until the target location was finally visible. A small flat of packed in dirt with little vegetation sprouting from the dry earth and surrounded by three of the tallest dunes in the desert. The only way in and out was a narrow path in which a human could only pass through if they were a foot in width. In other words, turn sideways and shuffle, which is what the three had to do. They stopped their quads and killed the engines, removing the keys to prevent theft from rouges in the area. The leader removed the backpack from his shoulders and unzipped the top to reveal a large white egg decorated by dazzling golden spots. Without a word, the three shuffled through the pass, the leader holding the egg over head with a companion on each side, until they entered the flat. It was there that the egg was placed along with several different machines to monitor it, contain it, and eventually tame it. It was all for the sake of a colony that was withering in the north. If this failed, it was over.
After the set up, the three men left in a roaring of engines, the same way they came, abandoning the speckled egg in the hard dirt of the flat land. It didn't take long for the egg to crack. As predicted, it was extremely close to hatching when it was left. The egg wobbled and jerked side to side before falling over and rolling in an arced path. There it wobbled and jerked some more until a piece snapped off and flew three feet away. A paw moved from the hole and was replaced by a snuffling, curious nose that huffed feverously at the air before pulling away. A pause. Then another wobble. Then the paws returned to the hole, pushing and scratching at the shell as they slowly forced the soft matter away. After several minutes, the egg tipped to the left, spilling a gold and cream Viscet out into the hard dirt below.
