What's your Viscet's favorite thing to play with?
Bodhie;; Hm, my favorite thing? I would say Bruce, but he never plays with me... So I guess I'll have to go with my hermit crabs! They don't much care for me, but they also don't have much of a choice. I like to make little mazes for them, but they usually just sit there. I really don't even know why I have them anymore.

Hey guys. Thanks to Grifforiks awesome sketch tips and anatomy refs I've been trying to improve my Viscet drawing skills...I always imagined and drew them a lot more canine....So I tried out the gentle forehead slope I saw on Griffs images.

Please let me know what you think...or if I'm still messing these guys up really bad.
Personally I like this better than the other way I drew them...
Six is my inspiration...


Also....I will never understand this....but all of these sketches took me about 5-10 minutes...in total....

But they look way better than when I spend an hour or two on something and try super hard to be straight lined and perfect....

They look great! I don't remember how you drew them before, but they're definitely not canines. Soul's description of viscets says they're like ferrets mixed with velociraptors, which both have that gentle slope. You also did an effing fantastic job on that laughing viscet. I take me like an hour to get the proportions right on a head facing forward. Definitely keep practicing!

Hey guys. Could I get a few anatomy tips on this?

It is quite a complicated pose. There's two visclings there, so I coloured them in slightly so you could see the difference between them. The red viscet is older, and is wrapped around the blue one.

I was having some difficulty ahah, and I'd appreciate some help <3

Let me start by saying the blue viscet looks great. Especially the face. Foreshadowing is a difficult thing to do and you've pulled it off quite well!

However, the head on the red viscet seems a bit big. Maybe that's because it's lying down, but I think viscets also have longer bodies than that. These are all sort of personal preferences, but I feel like the manes should be longer in some areas (the center of the back and the head), the face is more canine-like than raptor-like. This is a problem that I also need to fix in my designs. We're all so used to drawing canine features, but viscets aren't canines at all! They have very smooth foreheads. And lastly, the ears, but everyone seems to draw viscet ears differently, so that's up to you!

You're doing well so far, the viscets are fluffy and it actually looks like they're huddled together! So, keep up the good work!

Being bad at one skill doesn't make you a bad artist. I believe I've seen you write some great pieces before. But if you want to be good at drawing, then just keep practicing! "You can do anything you're willing to practice!" Keep your chin up, sweetie. You're doing fine.

Super depressed. I"m only good at the art side of things, and it seems like that's not even remotely good enough for the try outs. Think I'll be dropping out of most things. Hope you guys enjoy your babies, I'll just finish up the art I'd done, might gift it out.

I get how you feel, dude.
like I'm good at art, but the rest isn't great.
Usually I'll get a bit depressed over losing (especially several in a row)
and then I'll just come back with fresh ideas after a little break.
(I mean, it sounds weird but most of my viscets were won when there was very little competition for them.. so it was easier to obtain so many then. but aside from getting an RU (Baron #402) and a custom (Rebel #296), Beacon #518 is the first viscet I've won since Jase #146)

keep at it griff, I'm sure you'll win soon ;w; I'm rooting for you, dude

Me too, Grifforik! I'm rooting for you! I'm relatively good at art and have mediocre writing. My biggest weakness is the fact that I'm a slowpoke, so I really can't enter for many viscets. But that'll never stop me from trying!

Mr. Minter: Columbia. We enjoy wrestling (I always win).
Columbia: Peppermint. We love to wrestle. (Peppermint never wins. He says he does because he's embarrassed!)

The ears need to be longer and pointier, the forearms need to be farther away from the head and relaxed a little, give it a small hump between the the neck and the back to define a shoulder, and make the tibular area of the legg slightly skinnier, also don't forget to make the toes look like the weight of the viscet is beino put onto them

I hope my critique isnt harsh. To be honest, I absolutely love this style! Sure, the anatomy and lines need a bit cleaning up and tweaking, but it kinda reminds me of like a Winnie-the-Pooh style or a children's book style. Super cute and simple, yet lovely
