no matter what situation she is in, aspyn is optimistic. she always looks at the positive things in life, and tries to keep herself happy with what she already has. as a child, aspyn was shy, hateful, and brittle. growing up, she never really understood that she had an impact on other people. but soon enough, aspyn realized that she didn't have to make everyone around her miserable. nowadays, she tries her best to be friendly, and open to everyone. sometimes, aspyn returns to being stubborn and sarcastic, but she tries to stop herself, and think about others. she is very open-minded, gentle, and grateful for the little things that she has. aspyn is very educated, and intellectual, which helps her easily speak and make new friends. and to help her meet new people, aspyn is subtle, good-natured, and peaceful.
Brief History:
often, aspyn gets questioned about her name; how did she get it? what does it mean? well first, aspyn was given her name from her mother, a dark-haired viscet known as eve. eve thought that 'aspyn' fit the child perfectly, and that her dark coloring remind her of an aspen tree. although these trees are light in color, eve loved the name too much. aspyn knew of her mother, but doesn't remember anything about her. right after being born and named, eve took the newborn child to the doorstep of a human home. although aspyn never saw another viscet for the first years of her life, she knew this wasn't where she belonged. so when she felt she was ready, aspyn left her human home to be where her heart lead her. she spent the first few months surviving in suburban ally-ways and streets, but she always felt herself being pulled towards some place; the forest. aspyn had heard many terrible things about that place. she was told by an older viscet that humans would often kill animals with a strange 'bang' and bring back the bodies into their homes. but no matter how high her fear grew, aspyn felt like that was the place where she belonged.

Story One, Entering:
aspyn slowly took one step after another, her claws scraped the black, hard surface below. her pace slowed as she reached the forest edge. aspyn looked down at the percise line where the black concrete ended, and the miles of forest began. she looked ahead, and narrow trail twisted around pines and oaks, and shadows stood behind every tree and bush. she took a deep breath, and lifted one paw over the line. before aspyn could place her foot onto the dirt, -BANG-. she jumped, and yelped slightly. her eyes were clenched and when she adjusted to her surroundings more, she could hear the echo of the loud crash, and birds loudly squawked overhead. this must have been what the old viscet told her about; the bang, the humans, and the dead animals. fear ran down aspyn's spine, and she shivered. yet no matter how much she feared the forest, she still felt the urge to enter it. so she did. aspyn took another deep breath, and with determination in her eyes, sprinted forward.
--
her feet never seemed to grow tired, and she kept running, farther and farther from civilization, deeper into the forest. aspyn couldn't go back now, she had been running for hours, and was now miles and miles away from the human lands. adrenaline pumped through her legs and she felt the wind flowing through her fur. fear, and the loud bang still remained inside aspyn's head, but she was filled with freedom and uncontrollable joy. she suddenly stopped, and a new sound filled her ears. aspyn raised her head, and her body grew stiff with anxiousness. she slowly walked forward to a thick batch of bushes and weeds. the noise was growing much louder. she pushed her nose into the bushes, pushing away the small branches and aspyn was shocked. in front of her, a huge cliff dropped off and plummeted down into a deep river. she kicked a small rock off the edge, and watched it quickly fall down into the rushing stream. the water's current was obviously strong, and looking to her left, aspyn was surprised at the large waterfall a few miles upriver. looked past the river, more trees lined the river, and continued as far as aspyn could see. unlike anytime before, aspyn felt..at home. this is where she belonged, and for the first time, a true smile formed across aspyn's lips.

Story Two, The River:
she slowed her pace as the sound of flowing water grew louder. aspyn's gaze followed the trail she took to get down the cliff, she could barely see the smoke from her now burned out fire. she stopped, the tilted her head in the direction of the waterfall. although it was miles upstream, the hollow falling water sound carried down the river. where aspyn was located on the river, the stream was slow and the current was barely even there. if she wanted to, aspyn could walk right into the river, and move hardly at all. but she wouldn't. her fear of dark, cloudy water was too great to overcome. instead, aspyn took a seat. small water ripples waved onto her feet, and she took a step back. aspyn heard a small noise behind her, footsteps. she stood up, and her legs stiffened. she heard another noice, a small "ting" noise, as if a small piece of metal had been dropped, and then heavy movement started in a bush. aspyn's eyes bounced from bush to bush, as she tried to track the creature. the sound intensified, and got louder. the bushes shook more quickly, and in an instant, completely stopped. aspyn's breath was quick with fear and anticipation. she expected something to emerge from the brambles, but after minutes of waiting, she could hear the sound grow fainter and fainter as the creature headed back into the forest. aspyn slowly began to walk forward; the bush was only a few meters away. her eyes examined the grass around the area, and right below aspyn's feet laid a small golden, heart shaped locket; the letter A engraved on the outside.

Adventure?
as you can probably already tell, aspyn is a viscet full of adventure. she lives by herself in a forest full of unknown. exploring is the only way for aspyn to feel happy. she feels the full sense of freedom, and adventuring truly makes her feel good about herself. aspyn has never felt that a traveling partner is necessary, but she does enjoy talking to and meeting new viscets. often, aspyn will meet someone. although she is cautions, she has relized that most all the viscets in the forest are just like her, friendly and welcoming. aspyn will talk to them for a while, and sometimes even walk to her destination alongside them, but she never truly forms friendships. aspyn is always too afraid of growing attached to other viscets. she fears that she will loose them. but there is a reason for this. when aspyn left her human home, she befriended an older viscet, known as maya. she was born into the human life, but she too, like aspyn, left in search of independence. maya knew more about the cities, and taught aspyn about how to survive in the dark corners of the city. aspyn quickly bonded with maya; they were very similar and shared personalities & interests. this was aspyn's first true friend, but she later knew that getting attached was a bad idea. while taking aspyn to a landfill, maya was struck by a human car, and quickly died by aspyn's side. it was hard to her to move on, and this is when aspyn decided to leave for the forest.

Aspyn Writes:
"aspyn had heard many terrible things about the forest."
honestly, I had never been so sure about anything in my whole life. they told me that the forest was nothing but a terrible, deathly place where animals are killed. they weren't wrong, but they certainly where not right. yes; bad things happen here, bad things happen everywhere though. humans often venture near my home, large wooden and metal sticks in hand, i have recently learned that this is where the "bang" comes from. they scream a loud, confusing language that i do not understand. but so many amazing things happen in the free wilderness, you completely forget about the humans. the trees, the river, the mountains. nothing in that city compares to what it is like out here. i am so glad i chose to move away from that place.

Dreams/Goals:
aspyn is what you could call; a dreamer. she is always thinking about the future, and what good things could come. she is super optimistic about about the positive things that can happen in her life. aside from thinking about herself, aspyn thinks about others. she is always hoping the best for other people, and is a strong believer in karma. she always wishes fellow viscets "good luck" or simply likes to make someones day. aspyn never wishes the worse for anyone, and she never wants anything negative to happen to anyone.
