Growing up in close quarters with many other children, Linnae quickly developed a
sharp tongue and a knack for using it, whether to defuse a situation or put someone
down with only a few words. She is very quick-witted and sarcastic, and often gets
very invested in her arguments, refusing to back down even when she knows she's in
the wrong. Normally, however, she is unafraid to admit mistakes and is very open to
new ideas and information, often taking time to seek it out herself.

Linnae is very capricious and often changes subjects in the middle of a sentence,
leaving her conversation partners scrambling to catch up. Linnae has been working
on curbing her irritability, but she has a very quick temper and is easily angered,
especially by Jingles with slower response times. Although she is quick to lose her
temper, Linn is just as fast to cool down and is unable to hold a grudge for any
meaningful length of time.

Every day in the morning, right after Linn wakes up, she spends about ten minutes
making faces at herself in the mirror to 'exercise her facial muscles'.

Akemi; Linn loves her foster-mother. Their relationship was awkward at first, since
Tarik had put the application for Linn's adoption through without even consulting
Akemi on the matter first, but they quickly warmed up to each other. They are very
close and Linnae often comes to Akemi for advice.

Tarik; Tarik and Linnae get along very well. Overall, he was definitely the most
enthusiastic over her entrance into the household, and they grew very close right
away. Linn often assists him in his various attempts to 'glitterfy' the house (in
addition to any random objects/family members/innocent bystanders) and in return,
he assists her in her quest to teach Leo the art of the kitchen.

Leo; To an outsider, Linn's relationship with Leo would look like petty hatred
and rivalry. They often taunt and insult each other, and bicker over the smallest
things. Humiliating dares are a favorite pastime, and they loves to make bets and
lord it over the other if they win. However, one is rarely seen without the other,
and the two know everything about each other. As much as they argue, they love
each other very much and do almost everything together.

Linnae sighed.

The aristocratic snob of a Jingle before her resolutely ignored her obvious lack of interest and
continued to list off every (numerous) flaw in her mental process.

Linn could almost feel her brain slowly melting from boredom and dripping out her ears.
Gruesome hyperbole aside, the other kid was being entirely unfair. It wasn't Linn's fault
that she had been running around the corner, paying no attention to anything around her,
and happened to run straight into him and knock him to the ground. Wait, when I put it
like that, it does kind of sound like my fault... eh, whatever. He's still being rude.

At least the lecture seemed to be wrapping up. "And if you really thought- wait, are you
even listening? I know it's difficult for you with that single, lonely brain cell left in your
puny little mind, but-"

Linn adjusted her flower crown with an air of impatience. It seemed to be time to take
matters into her own hands. "Would you give it a rest? I get it. Hey, do you
like waffles?"

The kid (What was his name again?) blinked. His mouth curved down into a scowl. "What
do waffles have to do with anything- yes. I do. Now help me clean up this mess you've
made and get out of my sight."

Silently rejoicing, Linnae reached down, grabbed some papers at random, shoved them
into his paws, and bounced away. "The rest is yours to pick up!" She called over her
shoulder.

She saw him glare at her and open his mouth to retort, but as she turned her head back
to face in front of her, Linnae crashed right into another Jingle. Oh, no.

As she stared into the Jingle's face, dreading the inevitable tongue-lashing, Linn was
shocked to see him smile at her. Wait, what?

"Hi there!" He grinned. "I'm Tarik. I thought something was up when I got back to the
house and Leo wasn't there, but he didn't tell me he had a girlfriend!"

"Dad!" came an agonized wail from behind her. "This peasant isn't- Dad, she's not my
girlfriend!"

Wow. Rude. "I'm not his girlfriend, sir," Linn informed Tarik politely, "I was just- uh,
running, and... sort of ran into him."

Tarik actually pouted. "Aww. I was hoping that Leo had managed to pull his flaming
train wreck of a love life out of the ditch-"

"Dad!"

"-and managed to pick up a cute girl. Guess all my hopes are crushed, then. So where do
you live?"

Great. This question. Time for the pity party, everyone. Linnae carefully withheld a sigh.
"Down at the local orphanage."

Leo and Tarik exchanged a quick look. Oh, wonderful. "So!" chirped Tarik. "Are you, er, a
permanent resident?"

Linnae shoved down every trace of resentment before replying. "If you mean to ask if my
parents are dead, the answer's yes." Whoops. That was a bit too bitter.

Tarik walked over to the spilled papers and fished around for a moment before pulling out
a phone.

Leo looked horrified. "No."

Tarik ignored him, typed out a number, and held the phone up to his ear. "Hello? This is
Tarik Vince,
I'd like to speak to the manager, please..."

Linnae blinked. "Wait, is he doing what I think he's doing?"

"...yes. He is." Leo still looked shell-shocked.

"Are you even allowed to just do that? Isn't there some kind of process for this?" Linn had
fantasized many times about escaping the House before she was eighteen, but she'd never
thought it would happen like this.

Leo groaned. "He hasn't even talked to Mom. This is going to be horrible."

Linnae felt vaguely offended. "I'm not that bad of a housemate. Hey, maybe I can teach
you how to make waffles!"

Her potentially soon-to-be foster-brother slid to the ground and rammed his skull into it
forcefully. "This is going to be horrible."xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The new home ❥ The small little furry pink bundle of joy was cradled in my arms. I smiled down, whispering softly so I did not disturb her. She was such a cutie, her pinks and flowers were lovely, but Tina hadn't always been this way.
When I first found her, she was thin, ruffled fur and ill, homeless in a bush. I had heard the squeaking from a few metres away, and was so glad I did. Once I took her home, there was a strong bond between us as I nursed her back to health, and fell in love. The local shelters had finally let me adopt this bundle of joy, and I couldn't be more happy.

I tenderly cradled Tina, all the way back to her new, permanent home.

Okay, this is such a hard choice, you have no idea. There are two particular forms which are both absolutely what I'm looking for. I'm literally torn between the two. But I have made my decision.

kamelgirl, I adore your story. It made me laugh, and I didn't imagine this little jingle to be so feisty, but you made it work. Also your art is beautiful! One last thing, Leo and Linnae BETTER become mates. c: Congratulations, take good care of Linnae.

Kydashing, I adored your form as well. Your story was very very heartwarming, and that jingle family sounds so sweet. You too did great with the personality. Your pixel art is amazing as well!
