Apprentice Ferondir of Mira ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, Late Morning
Shiallia Alexstraza

Ferondir nodded. "I've never thought of it like that." He laughed. "It's a good metaphor."
(Really, Ferondir? Sometimes this guy surprises me.)
"Oh, it should be soon." Ferondir said.
The mistress called Yami forward to check in.
Yami patted the top of Suta's head.
She seemed not to notice.
"Come on, Suta." He nodded to Ferondir and Shia. "I'll see you two losers later."

Shiallia - Guild - Ferondir

Shia watched them leave for a bit, then turned to Ferondir. "So I guess everyone's a loser except Suta." Her face became more serious. "They're going to call you, right? Then I stay here, I think. Am I getting it right?"
Please be patient with me, I'm super lazy and super forgetful. If it's my turn in a roleplay, feel free to pm me, I probably forgot. Heck you know what you can pm me anytime tbh I love getting pms.

Apprentice Ferondir of Mira ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, Late Morning
Shiallia Alexstraza, and six others

Ferondir grinned. "That's just how he talks. He's really a nice guy."
...
Ferondir nodded. "Well, you can stay here. But you should go up there," he pointed to the judge and prospective apprentice section of the stands. "with the other soon to be wizards, make some friends, if you can."
A loud boom echoed across the arena, silencing all.
The Archmage was standing on a plinth, in view of everyone. He had robes of deep blue and a beard to rival any. "Welcome to the Wizard's Guild, for those who do not know me, I am Archmage Jackiferus Boblinton Venericius of The Second Hokage's Grand Clan of Ithilvian Alash" His voice echoed across the arena.
Ferondir whispered to Shia and grinned. "I still don't know his name."
The Archmage continued. This guild was created to teach those willing the ways of wisdom, and to make them the best they can be. This guild was made to create leaders, advisors, and... goddesses forbid... generals." He paused, and located the apprentices. Four others had joined Ferondir, Shia, Yami, and Suta. "Today, we test the abilities and prowess of our newest batch of wise men and women, and welcome the next generation into our house of knowledge." He gestured to the four apprentices. "Come then, apprentices, show us your power."
Ferondir, Yami, and two others walked to the area just below the plinth.
The other three prospective apprentices joined the judges in the stands.
The ArchMage lifted his staff and pointed it at the center.
A flash of light, a loud bang, and when the smoke cleared an obstacle course took up the majority of the arena floor, some rooms shut in, other parts open to the arena.
A wizard walked up to them, this one carrying a scepter, and spoke to them. The audience could not hear what was said, but it was clearly instructions of some kind.
"You four are to enter every ten minutes, in order of age. If the wizard behind you enters the same room you are in, you will be disqualified and removed from the test. If there is a scroll, read it before doing anything else. You each have one hour." He raised his scepter.
The arch mage nodded. "First, Apprentice Yami Yoro of Castle Town."
Yami entered, and the heavy wooden door shut behind him.

Shiallia - Guild - Ferondir and a few others

Shia smiled at Ferondir's comment. "It is pretty long, isn't it?" The Archmage's loud voice called the apprentices forward. She whispered to Ferondir, not sure whether he'd heard, "Good luck, friend. I hope you don't need it." With nothing else to do, she sat down. If I'm this nervous, I can't imagine how Ferondir must feel... She wondered if Suta was worried about Yami as much as she was for Ferondir. Probably. They'll be fine, they can handle themselves... She still worried about her friend.

Apprentice Ferondir of Mira ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, 12:00-1:10
Two other Apprentices and a Master

The next ten minutes were nerve racking. Ferondir felt like every eye in the stadium was on him, but he knew that at least one set of eyes wished him well.
The other two were whispering under their breath. Probably spells they knew.
He couldn't think of a single one.
While he had been with Shia, he'd hid his nerves pretty well. Now though...
This is literally the pinnacle of everything I've done till now, he thought. His palms were sweaty. I can't take this noise!
After what seemed like years, the Archmage stepped up again, and his voice echoed into Ferondir's already frazzled brain. "Next, Apprentice Ferondir (i haven't thought of a last name yet) of Mira Village."
Ferondir stepped into the test chamber, and the door shut menacingly behind him, leaving him in semi darkness. The sound of the crowd was suddenly gone, but this did nothing to calm him, as the unnatural silence was just as bad.
He felt his way forward, and his hand found a table, with a tightly wrapped scroll sitting on top.

(Due to the solitary nature of the test, it has no place in an RPG. So I'm writing a short story instead. The Journeyman's Test)

Almost an hour later, he emerged from the other end of the course, looking worn and exhausted. One side of his cloak was badly burned and his hair was on end. He limped out, leaning heavily on his staff and collapsed. "It's over." He smiled into the dirt. "I did it."

Well, thats up to you Cassie. Either you can watch Ferondir's test, or you could explore Castle Town? Hey- speaking of- didn't you dock a ship here on arrival? You could take a peek at that and then meet me back here afterwards? I know a great restaurant near here! Zeph said to Cassie, enthusiastically.
...

What do now? Ravoo asked, seemingly bored already.
Well... I should really stay and watch the test- but it should take a while before it starts.
Maybe we could...? Zeph thought for a moment, when he remembered what he had traveled to Castle Town for a few weeks ago.
I know exactly what to do! Zeph said eagerly as he turned and roamed down an adjacent corridor, Ravoo in tail.
...

Two tickets, please. He said, as the Ticketmaster snapped off two stubs.
Enjoy the show! The boy at the counter said, sounding more as if he was reciting a script than anything else.
Yeah, Zeph added, grabbing the ticket stubs.
Here, you'll probably want this. He said, handing a stub to Ravoo.
The Guilds amphitheater was an old, round, pit carved into the hole in the ground. It was lined with a gray stone that composed the seats, and flooring, until the slope reached the bottom layer.
The bottom layer was a decorated sand pit with an artificial pond.
...An artificial beach? Zeph noted, as he looked down into the amphitheater's stage.
Well- this certainly seems promising. Where do you want to sit? Zeph asked Ravoo, as he looked around for a seat.
Preferably somewhere that in the mid- He started, until he turned and saw Ravoo, sitting in the very front- easily filling the space of 2 people, with his arms full of at least 6 bags of popcorn.
-or that.
...
Welcome to tonight's production of 70 Hues of Jack and Jill. The man at center stage bellowed, as an announcement.
Hm, sound intriguing. Zeph noted, as Ravoo dumped his 4th bag of popcorn in his mouth.
Please silence your Familiars, and remember- oil painting during the production is unlawful and you will be detained. Thank you, and enjoy the show! The announcer said cheerily, as he walked off stage.
Several iridescent orbs materialized in the sky, illuminating the sand pit, as several people trotted on stage wrapped in boas.
Jack and Jill went up a hill, so Jack could-
...

Several minutes later of laughing, cringing, and everything in between(Including Ravoo throwing fish at the actors)- Ravoo stomped his feet, as he turned to Zeph.
More popped corn! Wheat good! Butter! lots of butter! Pop Pop! poooop! pop! poppopopop Wapapapapapapow! POP WHEAT. Whee-at pop! He said expectantly, causing several people to look his way.
Zeph laughed slightly before agreeing.
Sure. Yeah! Maybe I'll actually grab myself a bag this time Be right back. He whispered, before marching up the steps and out of the Amphitheater.
The last excerpt he heard being -And soon Jack found that Jill's real name was Randy-.
...

Zeph sheltered his hands in his pockets as the crisp summer air blew against his skin, the auburn sunlight casting dancing shadows upon the rough guild pathway.
Hm. The library is still named after him. He observed, not really surprised.
...

Minutes later, he found himself back in the arena. Specifically, the area where future Apprentices sat and observed the test.
Surely Ravoo won't miss me if I stay here and watch for a bit. He probably figured out that the couple next to him had popcorn too.
Zeph's eyes gradually made skimmed over the Apprentices, seeing if there was anyone he recognized.
Surprisingly, he knew over half them.
One in particular stood though- that odd-one out being Shia.
Oh, and look, there happened to be an open seat adjacent to her.
Boo! He said, as he popped up in the chair next to her.
Hm. Better view from up here, I like it. It was surprisingly easy to get up here, even though I shouldn't be. He realized.
Conversation continues and I will just post about it from the past. Consider the next comment as an "Afterwards.
Hey, I've um... I'm gonna go check something. Be right back. Zeph said, flashing a distractingly charming smile towards Shia.
He rushed down the stairs, off of the Apprentices stand.
He's taking way to long on the Runes. That other guy's almost caught up to him. I've got to- He thought, look for the right door.
Ah! There it is! Zeph said, briskly making his way to the door, helpfully labelled "Do Not Enter: Authorized Personnel Only".
Excuse me. You can't go down there. A burly security guard grumbled, blocking his way.
Come on, I have to get down there...think- Zeph thought, looking down to the ground, twisting his ring on his finger.
His ring- My ring!
Oh, I can't? He said, holding up his hand to show the security guard the ring.
The guards eyes widened slightly, obviously recognizing the emblem.
Uh- My apologies! Go right ahead. He said, opening the door.
Zeph smirked as he walked through the threshold.
I can't believe that worked. He muttered, looking down at his family ring.
....

Why did I do that? No. No. It's fine. He didn't notice, I know he didn't. Zeph said, nervously brushing his hand through his hair.
Though he was right, Ferondir didn't notice.
If he finds out he'll- ugh. Why did I do that. He had it, he was cutting in close but he couldn't of done it. Ohmygo- I should NOT have- He recalled the last Zeph had done something like this to help Ferondir.
-No. Stop, don't think like that. Ferondir didn't deserve to lose- not as hard as he had been working. I did the right thing. He said, assuring himself.
He breathed deeply, attempting to collect his thoughts.
It's fine. It'll be fine. Worry about it later.
Zeph traversed through the underground corridors, examining various different systems until he reached the stairs and made his way out, back onto the main level.
...

Hey, what'd I miss? Zeph asked, smiling calmly as he returned to his seat next to Shia.

Prospective Apprentice Suta of Castletown ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, noonish
Shialia, two other PApps, and the three judges

Suta knew her friend would be fine, but she was still very worried about him.
She saw the girl called Shia look back at the arena. She looks worried about her partner too. She gently tapped the girl on the shoulder. "It's okay, your friend is going to be fine." She held her books close to her as she said this, feeling a little anxious. She liked the quiet and the predictable, and this place was neither. "He's very strong."
In a way, comforting others helped her deal with her own anxiety. She froze for a moment when Shia looked at her; she was very bad with people.

Shiallia - Guild - Suta and sometimes Zeph

Shia looked at the quiet girl curiously. "I-" Zeph's arrival nearly made her jump out of her seat. She spun around to face him. "Wha- Oh, it's you. Hi. Zeph, this is Suta, Suta, this is Zeph." (I don't know what Zeph and Shia said, probably not much XD) (Oh for goodness sake now I sound like portal.) Once Zeph had gone, Shia turned back to Suta. "Sorry about that, he's a bit... Enthusiastic." She spoke cheerfully, but her gaze darted nervously to the test every once in a while. I wonder what's happening in there... After a moment, Zeph came back with a casual smile.

"What did I miss?"

She glanced at him, mildly annoyed, and gestured toward building in the center of the giant room. "How am I supposed to know?'

Prospective Apprentice Suta of Castletown ~ Guild Arena ~ Day 7, noonish
Shialia, Hikari, and a third Pappy, and the three judges

Suta shrank back when Zeph came up behind Shia. He was far too loud.
He's not supposed to be here.
She knew all the faces of the Apprentices and their chosen. He wasn't among them. She couldn't say anything. He was too loud, too scary. It would just draw attention to her, that's the last thing she wanted.
She shifted away from them, toward another of the Pappies. (Prospective Apprentices)
The girl smiled at her brightly. "It's so exciting, isn't it!"
Suta cringed at her loud voice. "I guess."
"Taigy always comes out on top," she said. She looked back out at the stadium.
"Your partner?" Suta questioned quietly.
"Yeah. We're together... well, not together together... mhm. He was third to go in." The girl was practically jumping with excitement. It was really way too much movement for Suta, but this girl wasn't as scary as the one called Zeph. "I'm Hikari, by the way. It's nice to meet you." She flashed her big smile again.
"Suta," Suta said, "and you."
"Your partner's Yami, isn't he?" the girl asked. "He's such a hottie!" She laughed.
Suta flushed, mostly hidden by her scarf. "That hardly matters." She looked out at the stadium. Yami hadn't shown up in the open room yet, what was taking him so long? I hope he's okay.
Hikari grinned evilly. "You didn't deny it! You think he's hot!"
Suta refused to look at Hikari. "I don't think of him like that. He's going to be my master someday," she stated, almost loudly.

Shiallia - Guild - Zeph

Shia turned away from Zeph to check on Suta. "Oh... I guess you scared her away." She looked over the testing area. I wonder if he's done? I don't see him... Oh! "Zeph, there's Ferondir! He looks kinda like he lost a fight with a dragon or something..." She walked over to Ferondir, and prodded him in the back. "Hey, are you okay? You didn't get yourself killed or anything, right?" She was sure he was alive, but he was on the ground, and she didn't know how badly he'd been injured.
