Species Lines || Gryphers Entry

Postby Ratyr » Sat Jan 02, 2016 1:44 pm

Hhh Goodness, I'm so done
Anyway, here are some lines for the Gryphers stuff. I think I deviated wayy too much, considering the lineart and everything.
Since Gryphers are Gryphon/White Tailed Deer hybrids, I went ahead and heavily based this on deer. This means that I had to dig through dA to find some deer tutorials I saw before. Unfortunately, I mostly ignored the gryphon stuff in the critter's build, such as the scaly front limbs. Bluh, bluh, bluh, this took a while.
Here are some notes and stuff that.. eh. They're probable.
    - Anatomy
      - Their anatomy leans toward deer.
      - Gryphers do have teeth, but lack incisors on the upper jaw, just like in real deer.
      - They, being herbivores, have a full set of molars designed for chewing as well as a lack of binocular vision.
      - The beak is much less curved than in gryphons.
      - A good deal of strength, sharp claws, and a nasty bite defend these creatures.
      - Much more muscular than deer. Also, shorter legs.
      - Their avian blood lends them good shoulder and breast muscles as well as a larger sternum.
      - Since gryphons are part lion, gryphers do have manes. However, they are rather pitiful in comparison.
      - Males lack magnificent antlers; they have teeny nubs instead. In addition, their manes are much longer than in females.
    - Behavior
      - Their behavior leans toward gryphons.
      - Despite their docile appearance, gryphers are very dangerous. It's best to leave them alone.
      - Grypher fawns are rowdy, to say the least. They like to play all the time.

Yes, you can! It takes a whole lot of practice to draw very well, and I'm not even close to my best yet!
Also, this took a long time to make. ;w;
