I think their should be a breeding season. c: Breedings as they are now can still be done, I just suggest having a short time every year ( maybe twice a year ) perhaps during school vacations and such when all tickets posted would be accepted. You could hire guest artist nursery artists to help, and you can also have some limits at times, such as "only first time breedings this season" or "only simple designs and single baby batches this season" and such. I think it should last anywhere from 2 days to a week to a month. It would really help users who are not fast at catching slots, and yet still ( hopefully ) not overwhelm the artists. And, hey, if it does, you can always just try it and cancel the idea if it fails miserably. ouo Oh, and, after the season ends, nursery breedongs go back on a claim basis.

Honestly I dont think this is a viable idea as it would put an insane amount of stress on the nursery artists. SO many people would want a slot and would be posting all at once, artists would be doing the breedings for months... The only way this could possibly work on any scale would be if an artist only opened this "breeding period" for like 5 minutes, and I'm sure that a large amount of forms would still be posted in that short amount of time.

I agree. the main problems with the session of anyone ordering is that it would be absolute mayhem... The random.org does make it a bit easier for the artists, yes, but it seems a bit unfair to me, in one way. there are a few couples couples who seem to get into almost every breeding slot opening, until their breeding slots are full, and I find it kind of frustrating how I can never get slots yet these people always can. but, I obviously still feel glad for them. <3 I feel like maybe we could do one just for couples and users who have never bred. meaning, both the couple and the username posting the form may never have had a form accepted. Just to allow those who work all day a chance to get breeding slots for their plumerian, too !!

I'm part of an adoptable community where we have had special breeding artists appointed, and it made an insane difference in the amount of breedings ! the community was quite happy about this, and it just made everything run more smoothly and stress-free.

Yes, I know that. Yet, If limited to first time breedings, and perhaps first time users too ( as flurr the snowflake suggested ) and with the help of guest artist nursery artists and possibly new nursery artists, the goal is not impossible. I just think it should be an idea to try out, to see how bad it gets or if it works. It would also help if the "art rule" could not be used during the session ( meaning the couple would have had to have been mates for the specified amount of time and not get it any shorter by drawing art ) to lessen the gap. A better idea, I admit, would be to have pre scheduled openings with a certain amount of slots, but that was already asked and if I remember correctly Char said it probably would not happen as artists generally decide these things at random. c:

I appreciate all the thoughts, everyone! I have done some raffle-style slots in the past and I'm planning on opening some soon. While a 'breeding season' is an interesting idea, I think it would end up being a huge workload and result in artists not opening slots for a while after as they struggle to catch up/not be burned out by it. And in the future I will probably be looking for more nursery artists, though that may not be immediate. ^^ Hopefully that answers some questions!

as a staff, I can say a 'breeding' season is completely unseeable.
vacations for most are spent traveling, being with family, and dedicating a time of the year for just breeding slots
would be a little ridiculous and quite stressful on nursery artists alone

guest nursery artists would be just... kind of weird?
at least in my eyes
i don't know an exact reason why, but just coordinating that on top of regular adopts and growths and guest artists
it would not be an easy thing to keep track of either.

many staff are busy, and have a real life, and it doesn't focus on posting openings for tickets for a pixel species
first come, first serve is the most sensible option, and yes, I understand the nursery has been slow,
(hiring more nursery artists wouldn't be a bad thing, no, but that too takes time and effort to process.)
but many are in the middle of jobs, family time, or finals and school work qvq;;
