grazer was a good child. he always tried to do what he was told. he didnt pick fights, or cause trouble. he made sure he cared for his mother, and he gave what little he had to help others. yet somehow, out of all the people, he was the one who was standing next to his sobbing mother as the guards reached for him. his first instinct was to go with them, to obey so his mother didnt get hurt, gut he didn't deserve this. he swung his fist and it caught the first mans jaw. years of chopping wood and watching bar fights definitely helped him. the second man grabbed him, as the first grabbed his mother, holding his dagger at her throat. "let her go. ill go with you," grazer, who had always been a quiet child, spoke in his low husky voice, his eyes narrowing as the man released his mother, pushing him out the door.

im am extremely infuriated seeing as i wrote about 2 paragraphs but when i tried to do my coding a deleted it. //

Margo was fingering the folds of her newest dress, a dull pearl colour and a gift from her father. He'd been afar, and he brought back a chest full of presents just for her. It included gowns, exquisite artifacts, and a curious small bird. She'd been stroking the Dusky Lory, affectionately named Grenlin, when she'd heard the news that a band of soldiers had left to settle debts with a family in the kingdom. Her heart had clenched, then, because she knew how the guards worked. She knew what they did when they wanted to even off a debt. Thus here she was, hands clenching and opening stiffly, pacing the huge open space that was the ball room. She kept eying the grand doors, pacing in a manner that would have had her mother scolding her if she were watching. She wasn't sure what she was expecting, this could end in a number of ways. The guards could come busting in the doors, swords filthy and smirks broad. They could be toting the newest maid or stable hand. Her pace slowed greatly, her eyes dropping to her twined fingers. A strand of blonde hair that had escaped her bun fell in her face, and she untangled a hand to brush it back.

Ah, that's awful. Coding can be so fickle sometimes.

grazer stiffened as he felt the guard tie something around his wrists. he scowled, squirming as he twisted his wrists. the other man poked him in the side none to gently with his dagger amd he stopped squirming immediately, squeezing his eyes shut. they shoved him into a horse drawn carriage and one of them went to the front as the other sat in the back with him. grazer fumbled with the binds and he had only just gotten his hand untied when the man watching him noticed. the man hit him next to his eye witht the but of his dagger and, just for good measure, swiped the blade along grazers jawline. grazer felt the blood oozing out of the wound as he grimaced, holding back a shout. he felt his head poundingas the cart slowed and the man grabbed his forearm, shoving him out and towards the huge castle walls.

She heard approaching footsteps, and she immediately stopped her poor posture, back straightening and pacing coming to a halt. It was a maid, her long brown curls swept back by a thick black ribbon. She stopped at a respectable distance, curtsying deeply. "If I may, your highness?" she spoke dimly. "Please, news?" Margo asked in her practiced professional tone. The maid informed her of the approaching carriage, the same that the guards had taken out. She thanked the maid hurriedly, walking as fast as her status would allow down the corridors to step outside the palace doors. She stepped on the outside ground, a guard on either side of her by the doors. Margo watched from a distance as the guards approached the castle walls, toting a figure she didn't recognize but couldn't see too well, either. She waited patiently as they came closer, prepared to appraise whoever it was the guards were bringing.

grazer knew he must have been a sight, bruised and bleeding from being manhandled. he stumbled alongside the guards, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the figure up ahead. his head pounded as he slowed down, squeezing his eyes shut as he rubbed his forehead. the guards, obviously frustrated, gripped his forearms and they drug him forwards. grazer kicked at them, but missed. he gave up, letting them drag him forwards. he stared at the woman ahead, scowling. when he realised who it was, he mustered up his strength and courage, twisting as elbowing one of the guards in the face. the man stumbled, dazed and grazer quickly delivered a quick kick to the others stomach, knowing they were shocked, not expecting him to fight back. as the man stumble grazer reached forwards, taking the dagger and holding it out threateningly

As the three men approached, she was able to catch sight of the younger villager. Her heart began to sink slowly. He was bruised and beaten, blood trailing down his skin in a few different places. He was struggling against the grip of the guards, and she wondered what had happened outside of the palace walls. They were closer, and she was about to take a small step forward when he made quick work of the guards, taking possession of a dagger. As he wielded it, the guards were preparing to launch at him again. "Stop," she commanded the soldiers. "And you," she turned to the boy. He looked close to her age, maybe a bit older. He was work-worn, clearly used to labor. "Please, lower the dagger. I don't wish for more violence." Her eyes flitted over him quickly. "Who are you?"
