My parents didn't want me to ride after I had a nasty accident which involved me getting dragged across an arena on my back with my foot in the stirrup but I carried on. They thought I'd never be able to look after a horse or get my confidence back but I kept at it. You have to show them your passion in it. You've got to convince them that you're passionate about it and that it means a lot to you. I didn't think within three years' time, I'd have my own. My horse has given me so much confidence and my mum trusts him with me. We do stupid stunts together such as bareback or stirrupless jumping up to 1 meter and higher, flying dismounts and I've been known to flip off his back and vault on from the floor.
idk if this will work but here's a link of me jumping 1m5 with him a few months ago. He's 14hh so that's why he jumps it strange. Just click the box that says MOV and it comes up ;,)

I don't think it's that he's short that he's having a weird jump. To me it looks like he's having trouble spotting his distance, and initially taking off way to close to the jump. If you set a pole about one of your strides out from the jump, it should encourage him to take a later take-off, essentially making him jump cleaner, smoother and more comfortable for you, as well as lowering the risk of pulling a rail. c:

My mum has been asking lately about whether i'd like to go to horse riding classes but I have Aspergers Syndrome, (a form of autism) which means im quite anxious and unpredictable at times. I really do want to go to horse riding classes and I do love horses, I have since I was young, it's just im not to sure I should ride a full sized horse due to me being quite anxious about large horses.
Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me?

does/has he ever broken out of his stall or pasture? if not try putting him in the pasture and let him run before the lesson as he might have pent up energy. just a thought.
