racing name: Crisp-Coat
call name: Autumn
gender: female
tack colour: similar colors to her reds and oranges, with plaid markings and faint black stripes.
introduction to the tack and collar:
I was breathing loudly, and I could feel my anxiety kicking up. Although Autumn was sweet, I had no idea how she would react to the tack and collar, as it might spark something of her bad memories of racing, and she might go into a panic. I inhaled, holding the tack and collar. It was a beautiful crimson color, similar to Autumn's own coat. It had the similar arrays of red and orangish, and finished with a plaid sort of design, with faint black and dark red lines streaking horizontally and diagonally across the tack and collar. As I got closer, the more nervous i became, but I continued. If Amber was to become a racer again, she needed a tack and collar. I slipped through my backyard fence, and closed the gate behind me. Autumn was in the back, running around and when I walked in she gave an excited chirp. I sat down, and placed the tack and collar behind me gently. As she came forward, I could see fear slowly building up in her eyes. I calmed her, and whispered to her, " it's gonna be okay, you're fine. " I slowly pulled the tack and collar from behind me, and placed it in front of me for her to sniff. She uneasily sniffed, and then gave off a faint alarm chirp, along with another low bark noise. I calmed her again, and then lifted it up. She looked up at me. I then slowly lowered it onto her back and muzzle, and she started squirming, but finally she cooperated. It was a perfect fit. It looked stunning on her, and I was surprised she agreed to let me put it on her. This was the first step of trust, and I knew that we were off to a good start.
